The True Colors of Egyptian President Morsi is revealed in the discovery of a 2010 Video

Mohamed MorsiVideo emerges of Egyptian leader Morsi blasting Jews, Zionist in 2010

Source:  Fox News

As Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi claims he will uphold a peace treaty with Israel, a video has emerged of 2010 speech in which he lashes out at Jews and Zionists.

According to The New York Times, Morsi, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, spoke at a rally against the Israeli blockade of Gaza, telling Egyptians to “never forget, brothers, to nurse our children and our grandchildren on hatred for them: for Zionists, for Jews.”

Morsi went on to say Palestine would be freed through resistance, and called President Obama a liar.

The speech was first shown Friday on Egyptian satirist Bassem Youssef’s television show, according to the paper, and was made after a flareup in 2010 between Israel and Gaza.

A 2010 Morsi television interview also was unearthed last week by the Middle East Media Research Institute, the Times reports.

In it, Morsi called Zionists “bloodsuckers who attack the Palestinians,” and “descendants of apes and pigs.”

Morsi has been regarded as a key figure behind a truce that was forged between Israel and Palestinian militants after both sides exchanged airstrikes for a week in 2012.

The video emerges just days after Morsi expanded the number of Muslim Brotherhood ministers in his Cabinet, VOA News reported. Three of the 10 Egyptian ministers sworn in are members of the Brotherhood movement, increasing the number of Brotherhood Cabinet ministers from five to eight.

Who is the MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD?

  • Founded in 1928 in Egypt by Hassan Al-Banna
  • In 80 Countries
  • Materially linked to every Jihadi Terrorist network – Al-Quaeda, Himas, PIJ (Palestinian Islamic Jihad)
  • MOTO:  adopted in the 20’s and still adopted today:   “God is our goal, the Qur’an is our constitution, the Prophet is our leader, Jihad is our way, and death in the service of Allah is our loftiest wish.  Allah Akbar,! Allah Akbar!

Quote from Notable leaders of the Ikwhan.

  • Founder – Al-Banna said “It is the nature of Islam to dominate, not to be dominated, to impose its law (Shariah) on all nations and to extend  its power to the entire planet.”
  • Mohammad Akef – Former Supreme Guide – “The MB is a global movement whose numbers cooperate with each other through out the world, based on the same worldview – the spread of Islam , until it rules the world.”
  • Mohammad  Badi  — Recent Supreme Guide -  “improvement and change that the nation seeks can only be attained through Jihad and sacrifice and by raising a jihadi generation that pursues death just as the enemies pursues life.”

Source:   Three quotes above from Senator Sue Myrick website.    – In 2009, Sue was selected by House Leadership to serve on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

Another Quote from a member of the MB.

  • Omar Ahmad – Founder or CAIR –   “Islam isn’t America to be equal to any other Faith, but to become dominant.  The Koran should be the highest authority in America and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth.”

Concerns about Obama’s Lack of Leadership and Action on this issue.

From Fox News   Arizona Sen. John McCain called on President Obama to renounce Morsi’s move to seize full control of the country, saying the president should “condemn” his actions.

“First we must condemn it,” the ranking Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee told “Fox News Sunday.” “Then we can outline what actions might be taken.”

Foreign Aid to Egypt

From Pro-publica.org  (ProPublica is an independent, non-profit newsroom that produces investigative journalism in the public interest.)

Egypt gets the most U.S. foreign aid of any country except for Israel. (This doesn’t include the money spent on the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.) The exact amount varies from year to year and there are many different funding streams, but U.S. foreign assistance to Egypt has averaged about $2 billion a year since 1979, when Egypt struck a peace treaty with Israel following the Camp David accords, according to the Congressional Research Service. That includes military and economic aid, though the latter has declined by more than two-thirds since 1998, according to a recent Congressional Research Service report.

Egyptian President Morsi Pushing US to Release the Blind Sheik, the Mastermind of the 1993 WTC bombing

Listen to Today’s Broadcast

Don’t say we didn’t warn you!

When Mubarak, was unseated by the mob, the Obama administration encouraged his removal and supported the so called ‘Arab Spring.’   We were told that Egypt is moving to a moderate position and embracing democracy.

I said, that in Islam, the only understanding they have of democracy, is where the mob raises up to throw out one dictator to replace him with another.  I said that the removal of Mubarak is likely to give the Muslim Brotherhood, the scriptural Muslims, the opportunity to gain power over Egypt.  Remember, that the Muslim Brotherhood is a terrorist organization and has birthed many more terrorist groups and front groups in the United States like CAIR.

The liberal media kept painting Morsi as a true moderate, but I have been warning you that he is not.  Here is another example of “I told you so!”

From Fox News -  By

Egypt’s new government is sparking growing outrage in the U.S. for its attempts to win the release of Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman, the blind cleric behind the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center.

In Cairo, President-elect Mohamed Morsi proclaimed to hundreds of thousands of supporters in Tahir Square on Friday that he will gain the release of Rahman, who is in a federal prison in North Carolina after having been convicted of masterminding the bombing that killed six and unsuccessfully plotting to blow up other landmarks, including the United Nations.

Although a U.S. official told FoxNews.com the sheik will never be freed, the fact that Egypt’s newly-installed Muslim Brotherhood government is asking has top elected officials here seething.

“It’s disgusting for a head of government to state in his inaugural speech that a man who attempted to commit mass murder should be freed,” Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., told FoxNews.com. “The fact that he said this in his first speech says to me that this is from the heart, and the Muslim Brotherhood has been trying to convince us that they have changed.

“We need to be more on guard than ever,” King added.

Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., weighed in, calling Morsi’s speech “an insult.”

“President Morsi’s offensive statements are an insult to the memories of the victims of the World Trade Center bombing. … Rest assured, (Rahman) will stay right where he belongs – in jail for the rest of his life,” Schumer said.

Hani Hour Eldin — a member of Egypt’s parliament, as well as a member of the State Department-recognized terrorist organization Al-Gama’a al-Islamiyya — recently traveled to Washington to press the case for Rahman’s release but apparently was rebuffed. When asked for comment on Cairo’s push for Rahman’s release, State Department officials referred FoxNews.com to a prior statement by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in which she said Rahman guilty verdict and life sentence were “correct” and that the evidence was”clear and convincing.”

Talk of releasing Rahman is “a non-issue and it’s not going to happen,” said one U.S. official who asked not to be identified.

But with the new government of Egypt making Rahman’s freedom a priority, many are concerned about the nation’s new leadership.

“I was shocked over his call for the release,” former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani told FoxNews.com. “This is a man who was going to virtually destroy New York City. I can’t imagine we would even consider releasing him.

“It seems as if (Morsi) wants to ingratiate himself with extremists. That’s something to consider. I always think we are better off being cautious than trusting.”

Former Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew McCarthy, who led the prosecution against Rahman in 1995, said it isn’t surprising that Morsi believes he has a chance.

“Egypt is going to pitch this as a humanitarian gesture,” McCarthy said. “We have an administration which just issued a visa to Hani Hour Eldin, and he is a part of the Al-Gama’a al-Islamiyya. This is an organization we use to take very seriously.

“So if you’re President Morsi and you’re are sitting back and seeing what’s going on, what stops you from making an appeal? Morsi has pressure on him. This agenda has been there the whole time.”

Rahman was convicted along with nine others of seditious conspiracy. He is being held in the Butner Federal Correctional Facility in North Carolina. He was accused of being the leader of Al-Gama’a al-Islamiyya, which was responsible for numerous violent acts including the 1997 massacre of over 60 people in Luxor, Egypt.

Although the 1993 attack failed to seriously damage the World Trade Center, it left six dead and was a precursor for the 9/11 attacks eight years later.

Inside report on Egypt under the Muslim Brotherhood

Egypt insider, Usama Dakdok gives a report about Egypt

Usama was on the radio with me back when Mubarak was thrown out.  We both predicted that the Muslim Brotherhood would take control of Egypt and our predictions came true.  Neither of us claim to have a special gift to know the future, we just have knowledge of Islam and was able to predict this accordingly.

Today, Usama talks with me about what the future is going to be like for Egypt under their new President Morsi.  He is not painting a pretty picture.  Also, Usama reveals what the Obama administration is doing to aid Egypt with arms.  This development is not going to be good for Israel’s defense and again, the main street press is silent on this.  If I were a journalist today, I would be ashamed of my profession.

Muslim Brotherhood Wins the Election in Egypt – What does that mean?

Today’s Broadcast

Muhamed Morsi become Egypt’s President

Here is what we know, Morsi is 60 years old, he was an American trained engineer, a former lawmaker, the first Islamist to be elected the head of an Arab state, and Egypt’s 5th President.  However, he is the first president that did not come from a military background.

Here is what we need to know about the Muslim Brotherhood:  Copied from Gatestone Institute.

“The Muslim Brotherhood was launched in 1928 to restore a caliphate, a global religious government aimed at fighting the “non-believers” (specifically, Christians, Hindus, and Jews) and at spreading Islam. The group opposed the existence of any secular states in all Muslim societies throughout the Middle East.

The Brotherhood killed Egypt’s Prime Minister Mahmud Fahmi Nuqrashi in 1948 and plotted to kill President Gamal Abdel Nasser in the early 1950s. An offshoot group, Islamic Jihad, led by Ayman al-Zawahiri, later Osama bin Laden’s number-two man, assassinated Egyptian President Anwar Al-Sadat in 1981 and tried to kill President Hosni Mubarak in 1995.”

The Muslim Brotherhood is called the “Ikwhan.”  Their creed is, “Allah is our objective; the Koran is our constitution, the Prophet is our leader; Jihad is our way; and death for the sake of Allah is the highest of our aspirations.”

The Spiritual leader for the Muslim Brotherhood is Yucef Qaradawi.  He has said some shocking things.  Here are a few examples:

“The Israelis have nuclear bombs but we have the children bomb and these human bombs must continue until liberation.” Yusuf Al-Qaradawi

“We will conquer Europe,  we will conquer America!” Yusuf Al-Qaradawi

“It has been determined by Islamic law that the blood and property of people of Dar Al-Harb (non Muslims) is not protected.  Because they fight against and are hostile towards the Muslims, they annulled the protection of his blood and his property.” Yusuf Al-Qaradawi

“It is not suicide; it is martyrdom in the name of God.  I consider this type of martyrdom operation as an indication of the justice of Allah almighty.  Allah is just.  Through his infinite wisdom, he has given the weak what the strong do not possess and that is the ability to turn their bodies into bombs as the Palestinians do.” Yusuf Al-Qaradawi

The New York Times painted this event as a great celebration in the Middle-East.  The successful election has prevented a Military Coup.  They said,

“Mr. Morsi’s status as president-elect, however, does little to resolve the larger standoff between the generals and the Brotherhood over the institutions of government and the future constitution. Two weeks before June 30, their promised date to hand over power, the generals instead shut down the democratically elected and Islamist-led Parliament; took over its powers to make laws and set budgets; decreed an interim Constitution stripping the incoming president of most of his powers; and reimposed martial law by authorizing soldiers to arrest civilians. In the process, the generals gave themselves, in effect, a veto over provisions of a planned permanent Constitution.”

One thing is for sure, Christians in Egypt are likely to suffer more persecution.

The Whitehouse receives Officials from the Muslim Brotherhood

TODAY’S BROADCAST

THIS IS A VERY BAD MOVE BY THIS ADMINISTRATION

Here is an email from an Evangelist friend: Dave Kistler of Hope Ministries and Faith and Freedom Institute.

On Tuesday of this week, Obama Administration officials met with envoys from the once outlawed Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood.  This illustrates the very thing that I’ve feared would happen in a post Hosni Mubarak Egypt.  Billed as a youth uprising in its initial phase, the Arab Spring was praised by most media outlets as a good thing.  From the start, those of us who know the intent of Islam as a whole, and especially the Muslim Brotherhood’s desires, saw a dangerous thing developing in Egypt during the Arab Spring.  It was our fear that the Muslim Brotherhood would have not only a seat at the table in the new government, but possibly the chief seat (or the only seat).  Well, that fear now appears to be materializing!

Obama and his cronies are promoting this meeting as a pragmatic necessity, since the future Egypt government will, no doubt, be heavily influenced by Muslim Brotherhood participation.  The problem is that we’ve had a long-standing rule that we don’t negotiate with terrorists–and the Muslim Brotherhood is definitely a terrorist group.  Once again, WHY does this administration insist on hobnobbing with Islam at all, especially its most radical elements?

Your answer to this question will be determined by what you believe about this President.  If you believe that he is a naive, “in over his head” politician with little experience, you will come to one conclusion.  If, however, you believe that his Muslim background plays a more significant role in his decision-making than most want to admit, then you will come to quite contrasting conclusions.  One thing can’t be denied, this decision is a horrible one!  The Muslim Brotherhood simply CANNOT be trusted AT ALL.  In the days following the deposing of Mubarak, they stated unequivocally that they would not put up a candidate for president in Egypt.  Now they are doing just that!

The following sentance that is X’ed out has been been censored by the IRS

xxxxx, xx xxxx x xxxxxxxx xx xxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxx xxxxxxxxxxxx, xxx xxxx xxx evil nature of the Muslim Brotherhood, but also understands who our true friends are.  The Muslim Brotherhood is DEFINITELY not our friend!  Confusion or fluctuation on this will  have dire consequences for America, the West, and the world!!!

Article from Fox News

White House officials met this week with envoys from the Muslim Brotherhood, in the latest sign that the Islamist group is returning to prominence in post-Mubarak Egypt after years in political exile.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said representatives from the organization met with “mid-level” officials from the National Security Council in Washington.

The meeting was held Tuesday, though it’s unclear whether they met at the White House or elsewhere in the capital.

The Obama administration cast the decision to meet with Brotherhood representatives as a reflection of political reality in the country, since the group will play a “prominent role” in Cairo going forward.

CAIR has committed Fraud upon its own Muslim Members

Source: The Law Office of David Yerushalmi

My Comments:

The following is a clip from an article from Attorney David Yerushalmi.  He is considered an expert in Islamic terrorism and co-authored an investigative report on counter-terrorism entitled, Shariah: The Threat To America, An Exercise in Competitive Analysis, Report of Team ‘B’ II, published by the Center for Security Policy.

He also produced the empirical investigation known as the Mapping Shariah project in America was the focus of a 2008 monograph published by the McCormick Foundation and the Center for Security Policy entitled, “Shariah, Law and ‘Financial Jihad’: How Should America Respond?”.

He is representing five Muslims that were defrauded by CAIR – The Council of American Islamic Relations.

This case will prove that CAIR has milked thousands of dollars from Muslims by promising legal representation but not providing it.

David Yerushalmi

Copied….

“The lawsuits allege that Morris Days, the “Resident Attorney” and “Manager for Civil Rights” at the now defunct CAIR-MD/VA chapter in Herndon, Virginia, was in fact not an attorney and that he failed to provide legal services for clients who came to CAIR for legal representation.  CAIR knew of this fraud and purposefully conspired with Days to keep the CAIR clients from discovering that their legal matters were being mishandled or not handled at all.

While attorney David Yerushalmi represents the five plaintiffs in these two lawsuits, three of whom are Muslim Americans, the complaints allege that according to CAIR internal documents, there were hundreds of victims of the CAIR fraud scheme.

According to the complaints, CAIR knew or should have known that Days was not a lawyer when it hired him. But, like many criminal organizations, things got worse when CAIR officials were confronted with clear evidence of Days’ fraudulent conduct. Rather than come clean and attempt to rectify past wrongs, CAIR conspired with Days to conceal and further the fraud.

To this end, CAIR officials purposefully concealed the truth about Days from their clients, law enforcement, the Virginia and D.C. state bar assoiations, and the media. When CAIR did get irate calls from clients about Days’ failure to provide competent legal services, CAIR fraudulently deceived their clients about Days’ relationship to CAIR, suggesting he was never actually employed by CAIR, and even concealed the fact that CAIR had fired him once some of the victims began threatening to sue.

“The evidence has long suggested that CAIR is a criminal organization set up by the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas to further its aims of stealth Jihad in the U.S.,” Mr. Yerushalmi said referring to the fact that CAIR has been named by the federal government as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terror financing trial.

In addition, several of CAIR’s top executives have been convicted of terror-related crimes. As a result, the FBI has publicly announced that it has terminated any outreach activities with the national organization, which bills itself as “America’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization.”

“As it turns out, CAIR is America’s largest Muslim criminal organization whose criminal activities know no bounds,” Yerushalmi continued.

“According to the facts as carefully laid out in both complaints,” Yerushalmi explained, “CAIR has engaged in a massive criminal fraud in which literally hundreds of CAIR clients have been victimized and because of the CAIR cover-up they still don’t realize it. The fact that CAIR has victimized Muslims and non-Muslims alike demonstrates that CAIR is only looking out for CAIR and its ongoing effort to bilk donors out of millions of dollars of charitable donations thinking they are supporting a legitimate organization.”

The complaint also alleges that in addition to covering up the fraud scheme, CAIR forced angry clients who were demanding a return of their legal fees to sign a release that bought the client-victims’ silence by prohibiting them from informing law enforcement or the media about the fraud. According to the agreement, if the “settling” clients said anything to anyone about the fraud scheme, CAIR would be able to sue them for $25,000.

This enforced code of silence left hundreds of CAIR’s victims in the dark such that to this day they have not learned that Days was not an attorney and that he had not filed the legal actions on their behalf for which CAIR publicly claimed credit. Days has since died of a lung complication.”

Good Article on Peter King Hearings on Islamic Radicalization

Why Do Islamic Groups Fear Hearings on Islamic Radicalization?

Source:   http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/why-do-islamic-groups-fear-hearings-on-islamic-radicalization/?singlepage=true

Because they are the radicalization problem. (Patrick Poole will be covering Thursday’s hearings live on PJTV. And don’t miss this PJTV FLASHBACK: “Roger Simon calls for congressional hearing on censorship of Islamic terminology”)
March 9, 2011 – by Patrick Poole

The hysterics over Thursday’s hearings on Islamic radicalization by the House Homeland Security Committee has reached epic proportions. Islamic groups have likened the hearings to a new era of McCarthyism; James Zogby of the Arab American Institute wrote in an editorial in a Pakistani newspaper that the hearings were going to result in increased radicalization and that Islamophobia was a bigger threat than al-Qaeda; and at a rally against the hearings in New York City this past weekend Elaine Brower of the Movement for a Democratic Society claimed that Muslims would be murdered as a result of these hearings.

They have even gone as far as attacking one Muslim leader who has agreed to appear, Dr. Zuhdi Jasser of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, an authentic moderate and American patriot who was given the full Media Slanders treatment last week.

So what has the self-appointed representatives of the Muslim community so up in arms? Are Muslims really in danger from Congress asking questions about widespread radicalization inside the Muslim community? Or are these histrionics a continued attempt to silence the growing majority of Americans who are seeing the glaring discrepancies between the rhetoric of the leading Islamic organizations and the reality of a growing homegrown terror threat? Evidence seems clear that it’s the latter.

This feigned outrage exposes their hypocrisy. Where were the cries of Islamophobia from these same groups last March when a House Intelligence subcommittee held similar hearings on radicalization? There were none, because the House Democrats who then controlled the committee ensured that extremists and the useful idiots endorsed by Muslim Brotherhood front groups were allowed to speak. In fact, one of the speakers, Omar Alomari, community engagement officer from the Ohio Department of Public Safety, was fired two months after the hearing for lying about his prior employment with a foreign government during his background investigation.

This time around, looking at the witness list for this week’s hearings, all of the speakers save one (the father of the Little Rock killer, Carlos Bledsoe) have already testified before Congress (two, Keith Ellison and Frank Wolf, are members of Congress). So what is really going on? I suggest there are at least five reasons why Islamic groups and their leftist allies are opposed to the hearings this week.

1) These hearings challenge the Muslim Brotherhood’s political monopoly

Since the 1993 World Trade Center bombings a select group of Muslim organizations, including the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), and the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), have enjoyed a monopoly on political access to Congress and the White House.

But in recent years, legal actions by the FBI and federal prosecutors have revealed the extent that these organizations are controlled by the international Muslim Brotherhood and have an agenda to wage a “civilizational jihad” intending to “destroy Western civilization from within.” An FBI agent even testified during the Holy Land Foundation terrorism finance trial that CAIR is a front for the terrorist group Hamas. As a result of that evidence, the FBI severed ties with CAIR, but they still continue to work with MPAC, ISNA, and other terrorist front groups.

In response to these disclosures, members of Congress have begun to notice and ask questions about the government’s continued association with these Muslim groups and leaders, which poses a direct threat to their political power.

2) Their narrative is at war with reality

CAIR, MPAC, and the other usual suspects repeatedly claim a rise in hate crimes against Muslims, pointing to an increase atmosphere of “Islamophobia.” They blame congressional hearings, opposition to the Ground Zero mosque, counterterrorism training for law enforcement, or Glenn Beck (whatever their particular boogeyman is that day). But data from the FBI show that hate crimes directed at Muslims have been on a sharp decline since 9/11 and are extremely rare — a painfully inconvenient truth.

But you wouldn’t gather that by statements made by Islamic leaders, who repeatedly claim that the U.S. is engaged in a “war against Islam.” And where did they pick up that handy little talking point? Osama bin Laden.

3) Their agenda is increasingly in visible conflict with American values

The offended Islamic groups increasingly ask for special protections and preferences from the government and the public generally that strike at the heart the First Amendment’s protections against establishing religion. Many of these groups have followed their Wahhabi patrons in calling for the criminalization of “defamation of religion,” namely Islam, and seek to undermine the First Amendment right to free speech. Additionally, violent practices justified by Islamic law, such as wife-beating (Surah 4:34), have been cited in criminal cases to excuse such behavior. In one recent New Jersey case, a judge accepted one Muslim man’s explanation that a sexual assault on his wife was justified under Islamic law because she was required to submit (that verdict was overturned on appeal).

The result has been legislative efforts in a number of states to prohibit the use of Islamic law in American courts to exclude violent behavior, such as the anti-shariah state constitutional amendment last November in Oklahoma, which was approved by 70 percent of voters in that election. At least a dozen more states are considering such legislation.

4) Their faux “de-radicalization” efforts are increasingly irrelevant

As we saw in the terror cases of Ahmed Omar Abu Ali and the Pakistan 5 (among many others), it isn’t the marginal figures in the Muslim community that have decided to engage in terrorist acts, but the best and the brightest. Abu Ali, who was convicted and sentenced to life in prison for his role in an al-Qaeda plot to assassinate President Bush, was the valedictorian of his Islamic high school and a youth leader in his local mosque. Minneapolis resident Shirwa Ahmed, who became the first known American to conduct a suicide bombing, came from an upper middle class family and had attended college. If these individuals have proven impervious to “de-radicalization” efforts of these Islamic groups, why should we continue to listen to them at all?

One disturbing element has been the use of known extremists by the government as “de-radicalization experts.” Two examples I’ve already reported on. Yasir “Hoax of the Holocaust” Qadhi, who admitted to being on the terror watch list, was called upon by the National Counterterrorism Center to speak at one of their conferences on the topic of “de-radicalization.” Qadhi didn’t do so well, since would-be underwear bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab attended several two-week programs sponsored by Qadhi’s organization, AlMaghrib Institute. Another “expert” regularly called upon by government agencies is Mohamed Elibiary, who, among other things, spoke at a Dec. 2004 conference honoring Ayatollah Khomeini, has publicly praised terrorist leaders, and threatened a reporter for the Dallas Morning News who exposed his extremism.

Which brings me to my final point.

5) These Islamic groups ARE the radicalization problem

It has long been obvious that the Islamic groups and leaders screaming the loudest about the upcoming congressional hearings are not part of the solution of Islamic radicalization, but part of the problem.

Just last week here at Pajamas Media I reported on one of the largest mosques in America, Dar al-Hijrah in the Washington, D.C., area, which has been a virtual terrorist factory. Another prominent Islamic group, the Muslim Students Association (MSA), has been cited in a NYPD radicalization report as a “radicalization incubator,” and in an article published last August I recounted nearly a dozen and a half MSA leaders (not members, but elected leaders of the group) who have been convicted or are currently facing trial on terror charges.

One of the witnesses testifying this week in the radicalization hearings is Rep. Keith Ellison, the first ever Muslim elected to Congress. But his colleagues on the House Homeland Security Committee might want to ask why he allowed the Muslim American Society, which has been cited in court documents by the Department of Justice as “the overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in America,” to fund his hajj trip to Saudi Arabia in 2008. MAS has frequently been criticized for indoctrinating its members in violent jihadist ideology. At least one MAS member, their former national spokesman Randall Todd “Ismail” Royer, took that ideology seriously and trained in terror camps in Pakistan before 9/11. He is currently serving a 20-year federal prison sentence as part of a jihadist network that intended to launch attacks against American troops.

In conclusion, the most charitable explanation is that these Islamic groups have a pathetic record on combating Islamic radicalism. But the evidence overwhelmingly leads to the conclusion that the Islamic groups so vocally opposed to the congressional hearings are the source of the radicalization problem, not its solution. While their rhetoric claims that they are opposing a “new McCarthyism,” an “anti-Islamic witch hunt,” and/or “a rising tide of Islamophobia,” their opposition is really driven by self-preservation in the face of leading members of Congress and an American public that are no longer willing to buy their excuses and justifications for Islamic extremism.

Advice to Heed

Bernard Lewis
From Bernard Lewis - Princeton University

“The forces working against us are very powerful and well entrenched. And one of the greatest dangers is that on their side they are firm and convinced and resolute. Whereas on our side we are weak and undecided and irresolute. And in such a combat, it is not difficult to see which side would prevail. I think the effort is difficult and the outcome is uncertain, but I think the effort must be made. Either we bring them freedom, or they destroy us.”
