Spotlight on Mohammad – Part 4

Mohammad could not discern for himself if the Jinn (Spirit) was a Demon or an Angel

Khadijah helps Mohammad discerns wither the spirit is either a devil or an  angel.

- Rough Draft-

Warning – Sexual content ahead

No. 154 (Ishaq)

So when Gabriel came to him, as he was wont, the apostle said to Khadija, ‘This is Gabriel who has just come to me.’

‘Get up, O son of my uncle,’ she said, ‘ and sit by my left thigh’.

The apostle did so, and she said, ‘Can you see him?’

‘Yes,’ he said.

She said, ‘Then turn round and sit on my right thigh.’  He did so, and she said, ‘Can you see him?’

When he said that he could she asked him to move and sit in her lap.  When he had done this she again asked if he could see him, and when he said yes. She disclosed her form and cast aside her veil while the apostle was sitting in her lap.  Then she said, ‘Can you see him?’  And he replied, ‘No.’  She said ‘O son of my uncle, rejoice and be of good heart, by God he is an angel and not a satan.’

I told ‘Abdullah b Hasan this story and he said, ‘I heard my mother Fatima, daughter of Husayn, talking about this tradition from Khadija, but as I heard it she made the apostle of God come inside her shift, (sexual intercourse) and thereupon Gabriel departed, and she said to the apostle of God, “This verily is an angel and not a satan.”

It is interesting to me that Mohammad could not discern it for himself.  He turned to his wife Khadija to discern if the Spirit was evil or good.  She did this by having sex with the Prophet in the presence of the Jinn.  The Jinn left and she deduced that the spirit must be angel as it did not stay to watch the show.  You would think that there should be some better way to qualify this Spirit as one from Heaven and not Hell.  This is what Islam is reduced to; this is all they have.  Every Muslims is basing their eternity on these revelations and hoping that it was not a demon.  Yet, this Jinn or the God of the Jinn never empowered Mohammad to preform a miracle to establish clearly that he was God’s prophet.  The only miracle Mohammad claimed was the Koran and he claimed that God did not get him any special powers.

Mohammad’s call to be a prophet from the spirit.

Was it a Demon or an Angel?

Warning from the Scriptures

2Co 11:13  “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.   14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.   15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.”

The Spirit Visits Mohammad in the Cave in Hira

From Ishaq – No. 152

“…in the month of Ramadan in which God willed concerning him that He willed of His grace, the apostle set forth to Hira as was his wont. And his family with him.  When it was the night on which God honoured him with this mission and showed mercy on His servants thereby, Gabriel brought him the command of God.

‘He came to me,’ said the apostle of God, ‘while I was asleep, with a coverlet of brocade whereon was some writing, and said, “Read!”

I said, “What shall I read?”  he pressed me with it so tightly that I thought it was death; then he let me go and said, “Read!”

I said, “What shall I read?”

He pressed me with it again so that I thought it was death; then he let me go and said “Read!”

I said, :What shall I read?”

He pressed me with it the third time so that I thought I was death and said “Read!”

I said, “What then shall I read?”

And this I said only to deliver myself from him, lest he should do the same to me again.

He said: “Read in the name of thy Lord who created, Who created man of the blood coagulated.  Read! Thy Lord is the most beneficent, who taught by the pen, Taught that which they knew not unto men.”

So I read it, and he departed from me.  And I awoke from my sleep, and it was as though these words were written on my heart.”

The Visit of the Jinn terrified Mohammad.

From: Buhkari Hadith – 6581

“The angel came to him in it and said, ‘Read!’

“The Prophet said, ‘I said, “I do not read.”

He seized me and squeezed me until all the strength went out of me and then released me and said, “Read!”

I said, “I do not read.”

Then he seized me and squeezed me a second time until all the strength when out of me and then released me and said, “Read!”

I said, “I do not read.”

Then he seized me and squeezed me a third time…..

“He returned with that and his heart was quaking. He went to Khadija and said, ‘Wrap me up! Wrap me up!’ They wrapped him up until the STATE OF TERROR had left him and then he said to Khadija, ‘What is wrong with me?’……

the Prophet became so sad that we heard that his sorrow several times made him want to throw himself off the tops of the mountains.”

Mohammad became Suicidal

Mohammad could not discern that this Jinn (spirit) was from God or the Devil.  He feared that he was demon possessed and wanted to commit suicide and throw himself off a mountain.

From: Sira No.  153 & 154  (Ishaq)

“I thought, Woe is me POET OR POSSESSED – Never shall Quraysh say this of me! I will go to the top of the mountain and throw myself down that I may kill myself and gain rest. So I went forth to do so and then) when I was midway on the mountain, I heard a voice from heaven saying ‘O Muhammad! thou are the apostle of God and I am Gabriel.”

Lack of Discernment

It is interesting to me that Mohammad could not discern it for himself.  The event drove him crazy and set him on a path of self destruction;  a trait common with demon possession.  In times past, God spoke directly to his prophets.  God spoke to Moses with his own voice at the burning bush.  It would only stand to reason that if God is going to give us a huge correction in theology, to turn from Judahism and Christianity, he would speak for himself to the prophet instead of through an Angel.  And surely this event would have more credibility than a sexual encounter between the prophet and his wife which we will cover in tomorrows broadcast.  But this is all the prophet and the god of Islam has to offer it’s adherents.

The tenants of Islam are based on the revelations of this Jinn, who claimed to be the angel Gabriel.

For example:

  • God is not Jehovah but Allah.
  • Allah was the God who made the World and Adam.
  • Allah is the God of Moses, Abraham, David and Jesus.
  • The Jews and the Christians have distorted the message and corrupted the OT and NT scriptures.
  • God does not have a son.  This is Blasphemy…. it means that God has sex and he is above that.
  • There is no Trinity.
  • Jesus was just a prophet and he was not God in the flesh.
  • Jesus did not die on the Cross – an imposter, perhaps Judas, took his place.
  • Jesus did not resurrect on the third day.

All these teachings are heresy according to the Holy Bible.  Who would benefit from such teaching?  Only the enemy of God, Satan the Great Deceiver.  We were warned 600 years before Mohammad drew breath on this earth that there would be false prophets and that the Devil can transform himself into an Angel of Light.   He is the Great Deceiver, the puppet master and Mohammad was his puppet.  Countless millions have been deceived with this cunningly devised fables.   This should break our heart for Muslims and cause us to speak the truth in love to them.

People who influenced Mohammad in his Religious Beliefs

From my research, there are four major sources that influenced Mohammad’s religious beliefs:

  1. His ancestor, Quasayy, a Pagan Spiritual Leader
  2. His First wife, Khadijah
  3. Khadijah’s Uncle – an Ebionite Priest
  4. A Demon who claimed to be Angel Gabriel.

The descendents of Ishmael lived in rebellion to Yaweh and abandoned the true living God.  Mohammad was 29 generations removed from Ishmael but one of his ancestors was well known for his spiritual influence in Arabia.  Mohommad’s Great, Great, Great Grandfather Quasayy was a great spiritual leader who gave many forms of pagan worship to that region.  Quasayy introduced ritual praying by prostrating the body over the ground, he would circle the Kaaba in Mecca, he would drink from the well Zam Zam, and throw stones at the pillars.  All these Pagan practices are still done in Islam today.

Prostrating

The Koran (words of Allah) says to pray three times a day, the Sunah (words of the Prophet) instructs Muslims to pray five times a day.  Mohammad told his followers that the Angel Gabriel showed him how they were to pray by prostrating themselves on the floor.  Muslims still mimic this method when they pray facing the Kaaba.  However, this practice was already done in Arabia as was taught by their pagan leader Quasayy.

There is a new practice that is being adopted by Muslims after they finish praying; they will whisper to each shoulder “did you see that?”.  They believe that on one shoulder, there is an angel who records all their good deeds and on the other shoulder an angel who records all their bad deeds.  They want to make sure that they get credit for their prayer.  I guess the one angel puts a merit star on their ‘good works’ chart and the other angel removes a mark off of their ‘bad deeds’ chart.  lol

Circling the Kaaba

One of the five pillars of Islam is to perform the Hajj.  Muslims are commanded to make a pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in their life if they are physically able.   The event occurs once a year for five days, this year it is scheduled for October 24-29.  There are number of rituals Muslims are to perform while in Mecca and the most popular is the Tawaf, the circumbulation of the Kaaba.  Muslims will walk seven times around the Kaaba counter-clockwise.

I have tried to understand why they do this seven times.  Scholars say it is commanded by Mohammad but I have not found a Surah or a Haddeth to back this up.  Some scholars suggest that it is because Haggar and Ishmael ran back and forth between the Mounts Safa and Marwah seven times in search of water.  Some scholars suggest that it represents the days of the week.  I have even read where they circle the Kaaba as a picture of the Jews wondering the wilderness.

The Well Zam Zam

After the circling of the Kaaba, Muslims are to refresh themselves at the well Zam Zam and recite two ritual prayers.  The tradition is that when Haggar and Ishmael were perishing in the wilderness, they searched for water running between the two Mounts Safa and Marwah seven times.  An angel showed them mercy and stomped his foot on the ground and water bubbled up.  Muslims drink this water today believing that it has healing powers.  Scientist have tested the water and found low traces of arsenic in it.

Stoning the three Pillars

After their purification on the day of EID Muslims will pick up little stones as they return from Mount Arafat.  They will take up 21 pebbles to cast 7 at 3 different pillars.  The tradition is that Mohammad was visited by the devil three times and Gabriel told him to pelt the devil with rocks to rid him of temptation.  So, Muslims throw these stones at the devil to rid themselves of temptation.

The Other influence in Mohammad’s life was Khadijah’s uncle who was an Ebionite Priest.  The Ebionites were a Christian sect who wished to live in the Old Testament rituals.  The Apostles had to wrestle with this a lot in the New Testament and some wanted to retain their Jewish rituals.  To learn more about the Ebionites, click here.

We see the Ebionite influence in Islam as Mohammad accepted the law of Moses, the teachings of Christ and James but the rejected the apostle Paul.  They also remove the Deity of Christ just as the Ebionite’s did.

Tomorrow, we will look at the influence Khadijah had on him.

Spotlight on Mohammad – Part 1

Today’s Broadcast

 His Origin and Background

Today I am starting a series on the founder of Islam, Mohammad.   He went from an orphan to the first man to rule all of Arabia.   From a religious leader to a political leader to a military conqueror.

We must begin with his lineage as he was a descendent of Abraham through Ishmael.  He is 29 generations removed from Ishmael whose birth and name was foretold in Gen 16:11.  (Note:  Only four people have this special honor in scripture.  Jesus, John the Baptist, Isaac and Ishmael.  Samson’s birth was announced from heaven but his name was not given from heaven.)   Ishmael and his children have always been a source of contention for Isaac and his children for many generations.   The struggles that remain today between Israel (descendents of Isaac) and Arab nations, (descendents of Ishmael) are just the continuation of this family squabble.

The Bible described Ishmael as wild and against every man and he will live in the [paniym] “face” of his brothers.  In other words, he would get in their face in a confronting manner.  Gen 16:12

We probably know more about this man than any man in history.  His followers had written over 600,000 traditions of Mohammad.  We even know his bathroom habits. So much has been recorded because every good Muslim is to emulate him, like every good Christian is to emulate Christ.  These traditions are called ‘Hadiths’ (pronounced Ha-deeth) and about 150 years after the death of Mohammad, Ibn Ishaq (Arabic for Isaac) wrote the most comprehensive and authoritative biography of Mohammad around 761 – 767 AD called the SIRAT (pronounced Sear-a).  The Sira is one of Islam’s scriptures that makes up the Sunnah.  It was translated into English in 1955 by a Muslim scholar Alfred Guillaume and published by the Oxford University Press, entitled, “The Life of Muhammad.”

His Family:

Mohammad was born April 26, 560 AD and died June 8,  632 AD.  His father, Abdullah (which means slave of Allah) died before Mohammad was born.  His Mother, Amina, died when he was five or six and Mohammad went to live with his Grandfather, Abd al-Muttalib, who died two years later.  Mohammad’s uncle, Abu Talib, then took charge of him and trained him to lead trading caravans up to Syria.  Mohammad became successful in business and leadership skills.  At that time Syria was a Christian nation and through his travels Mohammad was exposed to new sciences and customs.  The Syrians and Phoenicians were advanced and were responsible for giving the Arabians their alphabet.

His First Marriage:

Mohammad came to work for Khadijah who was a wealthy widow.  He led her trade caravan up to Syria and doubled her investment.  On his return, one of Khadijah’s slaves relayed an incident that occurred while they were in Syria.  A Christian proclaimed that Mohammad was destined to be a powerful man.  Upon hearing this and the success Mohammad had brought her, she proposed marriage to Mohammad who was 15 years her younger.  They were married for 25 years and they had six children. Two sons who died in their childhood and four daughters who lived into adulthood and were married.  The marriage was a monogamous union and by all accounts, they loved each other deeply.

You will learn that Khadijah and her uncle were very influential in shaping the religious views of Mohammad.

Why I call Islam Evil – Part 7

Demonic Influences on Mohammad (Cont.)

Mohammad could not discern that this Jinn (spirit) was from God or the Devil.  He feared that he was demon possessed and wanted to commit suicide and throw himself off a mountain.

He turned to his wife Khadija to discern if the Spirit was evil or good.  She did this by having sex with the Prophet in the presence of the Jinn.  The Jinn left and she deduced that the spirit must be angel as it did not stay to watch the show.  You would think that there should be some better way to discern this is what Islam is reduced to.   This is all they have.

The tenants of Islam is based on the revelations this Jinn, who claimed to be the angel Gabriel, gave to Mohammad.

For example:

  • Allah was the God who made the World and Adam.
  • Allah is the God of Moses, Abraham, David and Jesus.

All these teachings are heresy according to the Holy Bible.  Who would benefit from such teaching?  Only the enemy of God, Satan the great deceiver.  We were warned 500 years before Mohammad drew breath on this earth that there would be false prophets and that the Devil can transform himself into an Angel of Light.   He is the great deceiver.

The teachings of this Jinn (Satan) were from the pits of Hell.  A cleverly crafted religion of deceit.  It has blinded Billions of Muslims over the past 1,400 years and today blinding 1.6 Billion people are trusting their soul to this demonic religion.  This should break our heart and cause us to speak the truth in love to them.

 The Suicide Plan by Mohammad

Sira No.  153 & 154  (Ishaq)

Advice to Heed

Bernard Lewis
From Bernard Lewis - Princeton University

“The forces working against us are very powerful and well entrenched. And one of the greatest dangers is that on their side they are firm and convinced and resolute. Whereas on our side we are weak and undecided and irresolute. And in such a combat, it is not difficult to see which side would prevail. I think the effort is difficult and the outcome is uncertain, but I think the effort must be made. Either we bring them freedom, or they destroy us.”
