Listen to today’s broadcast:
Today I want to look at what happened last Friday. It was announced that an agreement was made with Iran concerning sanctions against this nation. The P5+1 group, including the UK, Russia, China, France, Germany, and the US and of course Iran, held negotiations concerning the sanctions and Iran’s development of nuclear material.
Sanctions had been placed on Iran because of the development of nuclear material, not because they were developing a nuclear bomb, but the bomb was the major concern. The reason for the concern was Iran’s direct and open threats against Israel saying they are going to wipe them off of the face of the earth.
In this agreement the international community has eased up on some of the sanctions. This is why Ahmadinejad was removed from the presidency in Iran. They brought in Rouhani, a supposed “moderate.” The sanctions were having an effect, which shows that the international community was moving in the right direction with Iran.
In my opinion, and in the opinion of Israel, this agreement was a huge mistake. Prior to this meeting the US and Iran held talks that were held secret even from our allies, mainly from Israel. These talks were personally authorized by President Obama according to an Associated Press report quoting senior US officials. The fact that they kept them from our allies should concern us.
Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, told his cabinet that this was an historic mistake and that Israel would not be bound by the agreement. He said we cannot and will not allow a regime that calls for the destruction of Israel to obtain the means to achieve the goal.
If you boil down what happened in Geneva here are the results. Iran is going to get billions of dollars and we are going to release some of the sanctions against Iran. What we got in exchange is their promise to slow down the processing of nuclear material.
I’m not a scientist and I don’t understand all of the details of enriching uranium and plutonium, but basically they are saying that they are going to dilute or neutralize some of the uranium they have already enriched above 5%.
They are going to allow inspections of the places we know they have, but what about the places we don’t know about? What assurance do we have that we know about all of their facilities and all of their plans? They have said they are not trying to build a bomb, but they have threatened that when they do get the bomb they will use it to wipe Israel off the map.
They are talking out of both sides of their mouth on this. This is why I think this agreement is a huge mistake, especially when we know what Rouhani said the last time he was involved in negotiations with us. He lied and did everything to hide what they were really doing and used the negotiations as a delaying tactic.
Israel is not the only nation that is saying this is a bad agreement. We have the Saudi Arabians saying the same thing.
Iran gets seven billion dollars that will be released to them which they can use to do whatever they want. All we get is some promises from someone who has proven in the past that they cannot be trusted.
Here is a very important point that needs to be understood. The US Government under President Obama has told Israel that we do not have their back. Our actions, in spite of some political rhetoric, have very clearly communicated this to Israel. This is what concerns me the most.
I said, way back when Obama was running for President the first time, that if there ever was a man who would turn on Israel, he was the man. My biggest fear has been what he would do or not do for Israel. All can see that my fears were well founded.
The Bible makes it clear that if a nation wants to be blessed of God, it must bless Israel. In Genesis 12:3 God says, speaking to Israel, “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” The context shows that this blessing is for the promised seed of Abraham, and that promised seed is clearly taught to be Isaac, and through him, the nation of Israel. If we bless Israel we have God’s promise that He will bless us. The other side of the coin is that those who curse Israel will be cursed of God.
This verse has, for most of our country’s history, been the guide for our policy concerning Israel. Now we have thrown the Bible out of our government’s policy and we have voted in a man who says he is a Christian and almost never goes to church. If he does it is for a photo-op. For the most part his life is that of a pagan.
We know that in his early life he was raised as a Muslim and went to Muslim schools. He tells Muslims that he is a Muslim, and tells Christians that he is a Christian. We have covered this in the past when we have taught on Chrislam.
I want us to go back to World War I. At the end of the First World War the Ottoman empire came to an end and the Middle East had lost control of their lands. Just after WWI the League of Nations was formed. It was the forerunner of the United Nations. The League of Nations gave the British Government a mandate which gave them control over all of the Middle East.
The mandate ordered them to return the Arabs to control of the lands they had lost. The first map for this division of the land was created in 1920.
This map gave 95% of the land back to the Arabs. Their goal was to develop governments among these Arab nations. 5% of the land was reserved for the future state of Israel. This was a good move by the British Government. Remember, the Bible says “I will bless them that bless the.” Brittain was, at one time, a nation that honored and feared God. After WWI they began to fall away from this principle and it was the beginning of the end for them.
When the Arabs learned that 5% of the land was being reserved for Israel they went ballistic. They did what Muslims do best. They started riots, murders, and all sort of problems. To appease the Arabs, the British gave 80% of the 5% reserved for Israel to the Arabs. This resulted in the formation of the state of Jordan. The remaining 20% of the 5% became known as Palestine. That is the part that was reserved for Israel. They have lost a large portion of that land to the Palestinians in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
Another passage we need to be aware of is Joel 3:2 “I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.”
Here we see that God was angry because they had parted Israel’s heritage. There are two things we don’t want to do if we want God on our side. Don’t be against Israel, and don’t part, or divide, their land. That will make God very upset.
From that time the great British Empire began to crumble beneath them. There were over 30 nations which the British once controlled and they have lost control of all of them.
There are consequences when you put your hand against Israel.
