Listen to today’s broadcast:
As most of you know by now, last Tuesday my pastor was taking some of our DVD’s, CD’s and other material up to Canada to be mailed to our Canadian listeners who have ordered them. My pastor was detained for more than four hours, our material was confiscated as being hate propaganda, and he was told that if we try to bring this material across the border again we will be arrested.
I have no hard feelings against the border guards, they were just doing their jobs as they saw it. I appreciate all that they do and understand how difficult of a job they have. I also believe that the Canadian government has every right to do what they deem necessary to protect their borders.
Having said that, I see that western governments have succumbed to true “islamophobia.” They are so afraid of the reaction of Muslims when others speak out against them that their fear causes them to overreact to anything that doesn’t present Islam in a positive light. The result is that western governments, those who have protected freedoms such as the freedom of speech, are on the verge of becoming police states, at least concerning free speech.
This concerns me. I understand the need for security, but that doesn’t justify taking away the right to free speech just to protect a group who, if they become large enough, will take away all of our freedoms.
Here is an excerpt from the memorandum we received concerning what is considered hate speech or hate propaganda.
Memorandum – D9-1-15
Canada Border Service Agency’s Policy on the Classification if Hate Propaganda, Sedition, and Treason
(b) Constitute hate propaganda within the meaning of subsection 320(8) of the Criminal Code.
5. …… The CBSA provides a 30 day service standard at both determination and re-determination levels. …..
Determining Whether Goods are Hate Propaganda
7. Goods may be prohibited as hate propaganda if they advocate or promote the genocide of an identifiable group…..Genocide is defined as acts committed with the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, an identifiable group…..
Since we are not accused of sedition or treason I am not going to deal with that part of the memorandum. They have 30 days to determine if our material is, or is not hate propaganda. If they determine that it is other proceedings will follow. We are getting legal counsel and we will be sharing with you what happens.
Look at point 7 under Determining Whether Goods are Hate Propaganda. This point says that if the material advocates or promotes the genocide (“the deliberate and systematic destruction, in whole or in part, of an ethnic, racial, religious, or national group”) it is classified as hate propaganda.
You will not find this in any of the material which was confiscated at the border or any of the material we have published on our website or anywhere else. Our message is a Christian message and we are taught to love our enemies, not kill them.
Let me as this question: Would Muhammad’s teaching material be seized at the Canadian Border as Hate Propaganda? I am not trying to be sacrilegious or offensive toward Muslims, I am just trying to make a point using Muhammad as an example. This actually shows Muslims that they could easily become victims of the same policies.
Imagine Muhammad pulling up to the Canadian Border and the border guards go through his material with the same criteria they did with our material on Tuesday. Suppose they take his Qur’an and read the following:
“Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.” He identifies an identifiable group with which they are to fight. This violates point 7 mentioned above.
If he had the law book of Islam, the Reliance of the Traveller, they would find the following in section O 9.0 (Page 599):
- “Fighting is prescribed for you” Surah 2:216
- “Slay them wherever you find them” Surah 4:89
- “Fight the idolators utterly” Surah 9:36
We could go on but I think you get the point.
Suppose they watch one of his DVD’s where he is teaching and he says:
“I have been commanded to fight people until they testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, ….” Hadith – Sahih Muslim 1:31-34
If they where to continue through his materials seeking to know who he was telling Muslims they were to fight against they would find that, at first, he taught they were to fight against the Jews and pagans, but not the Christians.
Surah 5:82 Strongest among men in enmity to the believers wilt thou find the Jews and Pagans; and nearest among them in love to the believers wilt thou find those who say, “We are Christians”: because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant.
In this passage Muhammad has enmity toward Jews and pagans, but still has good things to say about Christians. He later decides that even Christians are to be targets of Muslims.
Surah 9:30 The Jews call ‘Uzair a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah’s curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth!
He targeted Christians because he taught that they were polytheists because they believe in the Trinity. He added them to the list of those who should be killed. You can see from these quotes that the Qur’an, and therefore the teachings of Muhammad, advocate the genocide of identifiable groups. If the border guards were doing their job they wouldn’t let Muhammad in with the Qur’an.
The next section of the memorandum says:
8. Goods that promote or incite hatred against an identifiable group, by incorporating some or all of the following allegations, may be prohibited as hate propaganda:
(a) allegations that an identifiable group is to blame for serious economic or social problems;
(b) allegations that an identifiable group manipulates media, trade, finance, government or world politics to the detriment of society;
(c) Allegations that an identifiable group is inferior or superior to another group; and or
(d) allegations that an identifiable group weakens or threatens society, in whole or in part.
Note that point (c) says that if the material alleges that an identifiable group is inferior or superior to another group it can be considered hate propaganda.
Here are some passages from the Qur’an that violate this provision:
Surah 3:110 Muslims are the best of people ……Jews and Christians are perverted transgressors.
Surah 2:65 / 5:60 / Surah 7:166 Jews are transformed into Apes and Monkeys
The Qur’an teaches very clearly the superiority of Muslims and the deformed, Lowly state of non-Muslims.
As the border guards continue to go through Muhammad’s material they find that he has some very degrading things to say about women.
Superiority of Men over Women
Sahih Muslim, Abdul Hamid Siddiqi, tr., Number 142. O womenfolk, you should give charity and ask much forgiveness for I saw you in bulk amongst the dwellers of Hell…… Your lack of common sense (can be well judged from the fact) that the evidence of two women is equal to one man, that is a proof of the lack of common sense.
Sahih Al-Bukhari, Number 2658.
Isn’t the witness of a woman equal to half of that of a man?” The women said: “Yes.” He said: “This is because of the deficiency of her mind.”
I would imagine, if they were following the memorandum they gave us, the border guards would seize Muhammad’s material. As they dug deeper into it they would find that is material is a real danger to the citizens of Canada because it is filled with things that incite people to violence against Jews and Christians. Both of these are identifiable groups. Although a little less identifiable, his material also incites violence against pagans, polytheists, and anyone else who is not a Muslim.
If Canada is really interested in keeping hate propaganda out of their country I think they should look a little closer at what Muslims are bringing into the country rather than what Christians are bringing into the country to warn people about what Islam is really teaching. I need to qualify this. When I say Islam, I mean scriptural Islam, those who follow the teaching of Islamic scriptures.
There are Muslims who are trying to reform Islam and make it into something kinder and gentler. A good number of Muslims that are in Canada and the United States aren’t really practicing scriptural Islam. We can thank God for that.
What I am telling you is not my opinion. I back up everything from reliable, mainstream, Islamic sources.
On this website you will find information from the Reliance of the Traveller, which is the official handbook of Shariah Law, supporting what I have said here. This book is accepted by all of the major Islamic scholars throughout the world as being the correct interpretation of Islamic law.
