Listen to today’s broadcast:
Let me start out with some good news. We finally got word back from the Canadian government concerning the materials that were seized as hate propaganda. In case you are not aware of what happened about a month ago let me refer you to the newsletter we sent out when they seized our materials at the Canadian border.
This incident is an example of true islamophobia that is apparent in the Western governments. Knowing how Muslims respond to anything negative about their religion, Western governments try to squelch the free speech of those who tell the truth about Islam instead of telling the Muslims to behave themselves.
The good news is that Canada came back with a verdict. They determined that our materials are not harmful. This incident resulted in one benefit for us. We now have a letter from the Canadian government which can be presented to the border guards if they should try to stop us from bringing in our materials in the future. Praise God! He is still on the throne and in control of everything.
Although it is not quiet springtime, it is time for our spring share-a-thon. This is a listener supported ministry and we try to limit the times we appeal to you for funds in the year to a spring and a fall share-a-thon.
Thanks to the generous giving from you, our listeners, we have had amazing success over the three years we have been on the radio. We appreciate your generosity more than words can tell. We are on over 200 radio stations and without your help we would probably only be on one small station in Blaine Washington where we started.
It costs money to broadcast on these stations. I have learned that I wouldn’t want to run a radio station. The license fees are outrageous, the maintenance costs are huge, the engineers and other employees have to be paid, etc. It takes a lot of money to operate a radio station. As a result air time costs a lot of money.
We will spend between $70,000 and $100,000 on air time this year. Air time is not our only cost. Our support costs are growing as fast as the number of stations. For example, our call center that takes care of your calls costs us between $1,000 and $1,500 per month. Our production costs are about $2,000 per month. We have office and staff expenses that must be paid each month. When we first started it was just me doing it all. You can see that there is no way I could do all of this myself. Like any other endeavor, it takes money to run this ministry.
We work really hard to get the most out of the money that you send us. We are constantly looking for better and less expensive ways to do what needs to be done and I believe that this is one of the reasons that God is blessing this ministry.
This week we need to raise $28,000, either in money that is donated or pledges. We have our Sponsor a Day program you can give $200 to cover one day’s broadcasting. Many of you are participating in this program and it really makes a difference. If you would like to participate in the program you can call us at 1-800-716-9272 or go to www.fortressoffaith.org and click on Donation in the menu. If you can’t send the $200 right now you can call and make a pledge, or you can send $35.00 a month for the next six months.
If this is more than you can do but you still want to give to support this ministry you might consider being a part of our Army of Ten program. This is an army of people who support us at $10.00 per month. Some send in a check every month and some call in or go to our website and put in on their credit or debit card. I know that for some of our listeners even $10.00 is a big sacrifice and we really appreciate anything that you give.
Some of you have been financially blessed by God and have the resources to do more. Some of you may be able to call in this week and give a gift of $5,000, $10,000, or even more. We really need those big gifts also to reach our goal.
Tomorrow I want to share with you a very special gift that I want to give to those who participate in our share-a-thon. I think you will really appreciate it, it comes from my heart.
Hamas Opposes Human Rights Teaching in Gaza
As you know, Hamas is a terrorist organization started by the Muslim Brotherhood. This is the arm of the Muslim Brotherhood that is dedicated to defeating Israel and pushing them into the sea and making that piece of land Arab land and calling it Palestine.
The United Nations, which is giving lots of money and aid to the “Palestinians” who are foreign occupiers of Israeli land. The UNRWA bid to teach Palestinian children human rights drew strong condemnations from the Hamas government, whose representatives accused the international agency of seeking to “brainwash” Palestinian children. Hamas is saying that teaching the children about human rights is brainwashing. They say this is dangerous and will contravene Islamic culture.
To show you what “Islamic culture” this would contravene watch the video below. This was shot at a Palestinian summer camp run by Hamas.
You will notice that one of the boys has a suicide bomber vest and three of them have toy machine guns. They are chanting threats to Israel and saying they will never recognize Israel.
Hamas’ real problem with the UNRWA curriculum is that it could spoil the Islamist movement’s ongoing efforts to stir the hearts and minds of Palestinian children to wage jihad against the “enemies” of Islam. Hamas wants Palestinian children to be taught how to become suicide bombers and seek the death of Jews and “infidels.”
Palestinian schoolchildren in the Gaza Strip have been denied the opportunity to learn about human rights after the Hamas government determined that such a subject “dangerously contravenes Palestinian and Islamic culture.”
Hamas’s announcement came in response to an attempt by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) to include a course on human rights in schools run by the agency in the Gaza Strip.
I think this reaction give us good insight into the heart of Hamas specifically, and of Islam in general.
