Listen to today’s broadcast:
On today’s broadcast I started by playing a clip from a documentary movie that is coming out this week. If you haven’t listened already, I highly suggest you use the player above to listen. It is called Honor Diaries, and it is a groundbreaking film produced by Clarion Project in conjunction with a number of women’s rights organization. it is officially premiering on March 8, International Women Day.
With the participation of Muslim women activists who had the courage to speak out. It has a tagline of “Culture is No Excuse for Abuse.” The film breaks the silence surrounding honor crimes, the horror of female genital mutilation and gender-based discrimination.
The film has already been shown at the British House of Commons and on DirecTV in the documentary series “Something to Talk About.” Honor Diaries won the Interfaith Award for Best Documentary at the St. Louis Film Festival.
The purpose of female genital mutilation (FGM) is to remove the pleasure for women in sexual relations. Islam teaches that women are promiscuous and removing this pleasure will keep them faithful to their husbands.
According to a report from BBC, FGM has become such a problem in Great Britain because of all of the Muslims living there that it has been a criminal offense in the UK since 1985. In spite of this to date no-one in Britain has been prosecuted for it even though there are reports that it is on the rise. The official figures put the number of victims of FGM in the UK at about 66,000, but this number is extrapolated from the 2001 census and is widely accepted as being far short of the real picture.
Another report from BBC looks at the problem of FGM world wide. According to the report, UNICEF says that more than 30 million girls are at risk of being subjected to female genital mutilation (FGM) over the next decade. The report further stated that more than 125 million girls and women alive today had undergone a procedure now opposed by the majority of countries where it was practiced.
The film also deals with other abuses of women such as honor killings, beatings, acid being thrown in the faces of women, cutting off noses and ears, and other heinous things when they “dishonor” the Islamic family by violating some Islamic rule. Our hearts ought to be broken by the abuse of women under Islam.
This film reiterates the importance of our efforts to get the word out about the true nature of Islam. It shows the heart of this ideology and exposes the heinous mentality that it produces in its adherents.
Even though it may not feel like spring, this week we have been holding our spring share-a-thon. Our purpose is to raise $28,000. We need this to come in this month to keep us on the air for the next six months. The good news is that if we raise the money I won’t have to pester you about our shortfall. I would rather take care of the financial needs of this ministry during our two share-a-thons, spring and fall, so we can spend the other fifty weeks just taking care of the business of exposing Islam, reaching Muslims for Christ, and encouraging revival in North America.
For those of you who support this ministry we have a special gift we want send to you. The special gift is an audio CD and some drawings that teach a secret memory system that will help you memorize all of the Ten Commandments in order. How many of you could list, from memory, five of the Ten Commandments? How many could do it in order? Most people can’t, but with this system you will remember all ten and you will remember them in order.
On the CD that I will send you for giving to this ministry we also teach you how to use the Ten Commandments in evangelizing the lost. Using the law, the Ten Commandments, is extremely important in bringing people to Christ.
Galatians 3:24 says “Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.”
The law is our schoolmaster and it is designed to bring us to Christ. It is the law that shows us our need.
Romans 3:19-20 says “Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
Most people think that they are good enough and God will let them into Heaven in spite of their sin. If we want to see them come to Christ we need to make them aware of the danger they are in. God is a holy God and must punish sin. The gravity of the situation cannot be understood apart from the law. The good news, the Gospel, is not really good new to the lost until they understand the bad news of their guilt before a holy God.
Using the law communicates directly with the conscience of the sinner. It allows the Holy Spirit to work and bring conviction of sin. It allows Him to show the sinner his need of a Saviour.
I hope you can see why knowing the Ten Commandments is so important. On this CD I will show you how to use them to bring people to Christ.
Reaching the lost for Christ is key to turning our nation around. We think that our problems are political, but they are not. The problems are spiritual and will only be solved by a turning back to God. This gift that I will give those of you who support this ministry will go a long way toward resolving the problems if we use it.
We will spend between $70,000 and $100,000 this year in air time and production costs. One of our most popular campaigns to help us reach our goal is called Sponsor a Day. In this campaign you can sponsor a day by sending in a one time gift of $200. This is the average daily cost of one day’s air time. If you can’t send $200 at one time you can send a monthly gift for the next six months of $35 to cover the cost of one day’s broadcasting.
Another very popular campaign is what we call our Army of Ten. This is an army of people who commit to support this ministry with a $10.00 monthly gift to this ministry. This may not seem like much, but if we have enough people doing this it adds up.
You can give by calling 1-800-716-9272 or you can give through our secure donation page on our website. Click here to be taken directly to that page. If you prefer to send a check you can call the 800 number and they will give you the address. We have one in Canada and one in the US.
Let me give you one more phone number. If you want to leave a comment about our ministry you can call our comment line at 530-517-5638.
