Benghazi Cover Up

Listen to today’s broadcast:

Benghazi2Today I want to start by talking about the Benghazi cover up. We have been reasonably sure that there was a cover up by the government on this from the beginning. Finally the proof has been delivered to us.

Under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Judicial Watch has uncovered the email between Ben Rhodes, then-White House deputy strategic communications adviser, to a dozen White House insiders, including White House Press Secretary Jay Carney and White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer.

The email conclusively reveals that the talking points were designed to prevent implications that the attacks were the result of Obama policy failures. As reported by The Washington Times, the email states, in part…

It states, in part:

Goal: To underscore that these protests are rooted in [an] Internet video and not a broader failure or policy.”

In the email, Mr. Rhodes also advises key White House and administration officials to make sure they presented Mr. Obama as “steady and statesmanlike” whenever speaking of the crisis.

Another “goal,” he said, in his email, was to “reinforce the president and administration’s strength and steadiness in dealing with difficult challenges,”

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said the latest email proves that the White House’s main concern in the wake of the Benghazi attack that left four Americans dead, one of them an American ambassador, was the President’s image. This was more important than reporting the truth.

Tom Fitton said:

Now we know that Obama White House’s chief concern about the Benghazi attack was making sure that President Obama looked good,”

Remember this all happened just before the 2012 election and one of Mr. Obama’s primary reasons put forth for his reelection was “GM is working and Al-Quaeda is on the run.” This was clearly a manipulation of the truth, but I doubt that much will come of this new information

The big story in all of this is that we have become a godless nation. It is no surprise to us that our politicians lie to us. We have actually come to expect it. We have been fed so many lies that we just accept it as normal.

The Bible tells us that “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” (Proverbs 14:34) When a nation does that which is right it is exalted or lifted up by God. This is why America became great in the first place.

God blessed America because its laws and practices were, for the most part, righteous. Those who lived unrighteous lives were the scourge of society. They were looked down upon and outcast from polite society.

Things have changed so much in our day. Those who live unrighteous lives, like those in the entertainment and political worlds, are lifted up, and those who live righteous lives and stand for righteousness are now looked down upon and outcast.

If a nation is lifted up by righteousness, what will bring down a nation? Unrighteousness.

In Proverbs 29:2 we are told “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.”

We have lost our moral compass. We have kicked God and the Bible out of public life. There was a time in our nation that when we were faced with moral decisions we consulted God’s Word. There was a time when the Bible was a textbook in our schools and the school day started with prayer.

Today we don’t allow our children to pray to God in school and we tell them that God is dead. We teach them that we are nothing more than advanced animals and then wonder why they act like animals. We have taken the Bible out of the schools and now have to worry about guns and need policemen to guard our children’s safety in our schools.

We say that marriage is not important. It is OK to live together in adultery. Fornication is promoted on our TV’s. We can’t discipline children so they run wild.

The authority of our maker is questioned and now we question the authority of our laws. The Constitution is no longer our authority, it is judges who legislate from the bench and pass sentences which undo our laws.

Because God has been dethroned we have to deal with questions like, can a man marry a man? Can a woman marry a woman? Any one with a lick of common sense knows that these things are not natural. The purpose of sex is procreation. You cannot procreate in a homosexual lifestyle. God calls these things an abomination. This is the real reason that so many want the Bible and God removed from society.

Listen to what the Bible says on this issue:

Romans 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Those who live in sin want others to live in sin so they don’t feel guilty. They encourage others to commit the same things so their pleasure in sin is not diminished.

The freedom to stand for righteousness is being taken away from us. If a business doesn’t want to provide flowers for a homosexual wedding in can be prosecuted. God calls sodomy an abomination and if I don’t want to be a party to that I should have the right to refuse service.

Remember, righteousness exalts a nation and when the righteous are in authority the people rejoice. When the wicked rule the people mourn. Is it any wonder there are so many problems in our nation and there is so much unhappiness? The people are mourning because they have put the wicked in high places.

Listen to what Charles Finney said back in 1873:

The Decay of Conscience”

Brethren, our preaching will bear its legitimate fruits. If immorality prevails in the land, the fault is ours in a great degree. If there is a decay of conscience, the pulpit is responsible for it. If the public press lacks moral discrimination, the pulpit is responsible for it. If the church is degenerate and worldly, the pulpit is responsible for it. If the world loses its interest in religion, the pulpit is responsible for it. If Satan rules in our halls of legislation, the pulpit is responsible for it. If our politics become so corrupt that the very foundations of our government are ready to fall away, the pulpit is responsible for it. Let us not ignore this fact, my dear brethren; but let us lay it to heart, and be thoroughly awake to our responsibility in respect to the morals of this nation.”

~ Charles Finney

This message should bring conviction to the heart of every preacher. It should cause all Christians to examine who they listen to.

Charles Finney is right, the pulpit is responsible for the situation in our present society. It is the preachers of North America that have let us down.

If there is to be any hope for our nations the preachers must stand up an preach on God wrath against sin and His judgment of sin. A righteous God cannot bless a nation where wickedness runs free.

The words moral and morality are not used in the Bible. There is a reason for this. Moral and morality deal with what is acceptable and proper in a give society. For example, in a cannibalistic society eating other humans is considered moral. The Bible uses the words righteous and righteousness because these words mean that which is right. That which is right never changes but morals do.

Have you ever played a game where the goals were being constantly moved? Morality is like that. When I was young the goal of marriage was a lifetime commitment between too people in the sight of God. Today marriage is considered something that will last only as long as one, or both parties derive something from it. When they don’t, divorce is often the first option.

God’s principles never change because they are based upon eternal righteousness. If it was right yesterday or last week, it will be right tomorrow.

We can pass laws to make sin legal, but we can never make sin right. We have passed laws making it legal to kill the unborn, but it will never be right. It will always be murder of a human being.

The preachers of North America have given in to the pressures of society in so many areas. God hasn’t, and He will hold them responsible.

It is important to remember that all of us will one day face the Judgment of God. While salvation is not by works, we need to live by His principles if we want His blessing in this life, and in eternity.

As I said in the beginning, we have been lied to. We have even come to expect politicians to lie to us, and we accept it as normal. We need to hold our leaders responsible for both what they say, and what they do. We need to elect leaders who honor and fear God.

The problem with our society is that we no longer fear God. Even in supposedly Bible believing churches there is no fear of God. If God’s people won’t fear God, how can we expect the world to fear Him?

When we look at the history of Israel we see that God has a way of bringing back the fear of God. It is always through pain. I fear that this is what God is bringing upon us at this time.
