Sharia Law and the Bill of Rights – Part 2

Listen to today’s broadcast:

Islam Bill of RightsToday we continue the discussion we started yesterday on Sharia Law and the Bill of Rights. We see that the principles of Sharia Law and those of the Bill of Rights, and the First Amendment I particular, are incompatible. Trying to mix them is like trying to mix oil and water.

The first of the five protections given to the people in the First Amendment is what we commonly call the freedom of religion. The European nations and the colonies in America all had state religions that all citizens were required to be members of. It caused all kinds of problem and the founders did not want that in this new nation.

The First Amendment’s purpose was not to keep religion out of government, it was to keep government out of religion. The founders, themselves, openly allowed their religious convictions to influence their actions in politics and the way they governed. It is actually quite impossible not to do so. One’s religious convictions form their view of things and cannot be separated from their actions.

Let’s now look at how Islamic law relates to this first protection. The First Amendment gives each of us the right to chose what religion we want to be part of, including the right to be part of no religion at all. Islam claims to have religious freedom, they say we have the right to become a Muslim. If you don’t want to become a Muslim you also have the right to become a second class citizen and pay a special tax so long as the Islamic government chooses to allow you to be so. At any time this right can be revoked and you will either be forced to convert to Islam or die.

Islamic scriptures are clear on this. If you are not submitted to Allah, then Muslims are to terrorize you and kill you.

Surah 9:5 Fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem of war.

Surah 8:12 …I will instill terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them.”

Surah 9:29 Fight those who believe not in Allah….even if they are the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and fell themselves subdued.

One of the things that would be included in religious freedom would be the right to change your religion if you desired to do so. One of the principles of Islam is that if you become a Muslim, you can never leave Islam. If you do, you are to be killed.

Surah 4:89 – If they turn back, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them…

Surah 16:106-109 Any one who , after accepting faith in Allah, utters Unbelief, except under compulsion, his heart remaining firm in Faith-but such as open their breast to Unbelief, on them is Wrath from Allah, and theirs will be a dreadful Penalty…..Without doubt, in the Hereafter they will perish.

If that is not clear – consider what the Prophet taught in the Hadith. Remember that the Qur’an is only one part of the Islamic scriptures. The Qur’an contains the words of Allah. There are also the sunna, which include the teachings of Muhammad. They are just as authoritative as the Qur’an to the Muslims.

Bukahri 9.57

Some Zanadiqa (atheists) were brought to ‘Ali and he burnt them. The news of this event, reached Ibn ‘Abbas who said, “If I had been in his place, I would not have burnt them, as Allah’s Apostle forbade it, saying, ‘Do not punish anybody with Allah’s punishment (fire).’ I would have killed them according to the statement of Allah’s Apostle, ‘Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.’ ”

Bukahri 9.58

There was a fettered man beside Abu Muisa. Mu’adh asked, “Who is this (man)?” Abu Muisa said, “He was a Jew and became a Muslim and then reverted back to Judaism.” Then Abu Muisa requested Mu’adh to sit down but Mu’adh said, “I will not sit down till he has been killed. This is the judgment of Allah and His Apostle (for such cases) and repeated it thrice. Then Abu Musa ordered that the man be killed, and he was killed.

There are four main schools of jurisprudence in Sunni Islam and four main schools in Shia Islam. All eight schools of Islamic thought teach that leaving Islam is a capital offense. How can Islam be practiced in America with our Constitution if Islam teaches that all who leave the faith (Islam) are to be killed?

How can a Muslim practice all of the tenants of his religion under our constitutional protections if his faith, his religion commands him to kill those who leave Islam. The obvious answer is, he cannot.

We have two United States Congressmen who are Muslims, Keith Ellison from Minnesota and Andre Carson from Indiana. Both swore in on the Qur’an to protect the American Constitution and it’s laws. That would also include our beloved Bill of Rights. How can they do this and remain faithful to Islam?

The reason it has been the tradition of those being sworn into office to swear on the Bible is because our founding document, the Declaration of Independence, states that our rights are given to us by the God of the Bible. Anyone who swears on any other book, like the Qur’an, is swearing an illegitimate oath.

The reason their oath is illegitimate is that the book upon which they swore teaches that the only acceptable religion is Islam, and they can lie in order to advance Islam. These two Congressmen are ether swearing a false oath to Allah or are lying to us when they swear their oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States. Since they Islam allows to lie to the infidels (us) in order to advance their religion, I believe they are lying to us, not swearing a false oath before their god, Allah.

We will continue looking into this subject tomorrow so be sure to come back.
