Listen to today’s broadcast:
If you have not heard the news, we have finally captured one of the the people involved in the attack on our diplomatic mission in Benghazi. Ahmed Abu Khattala, allegedly the leader of the attack, was captured on Sunday. It took 642 days after President Obama came out and told us that he would get to the bottom of this and that justice would prevail. Did you get that? It took 642 days even though he was hiding in plain sight.
I guess we should rejoice in the fact that Khattala has been captured. Because of all the scandal that surrounds Benghazi and the fact that the administration tried to sell us on the fact that this was not an organized terrorist attack, we must ask why it took so long. There is one major reason for the refusal of the administration to admit that this was a terrorist attack related to al Qaeda. Remember, it was an election year and one of Obama’s major platform points was the al Qaeda was on the run.
If you remember the debate between Obama and Romney, you will remember that Obama was challenged on the claim that the attack was the result of a video. Obama then said that he had called it a terrorist attack.
One of the reasons it has taken so long is that there have been cover-ups and refusal to give answers to the congressional committees investigating the affair. There has been resistance at every turn on these investigations.
We finally have a select committee in place which has the power to get to the bottom of this. I believe that Obama is forced to act on information that they have known for a long time because of the information that this committee is uncovering. It would look worse for the administration to continue doing nothing so they, in trying to turn this from a bad story to a good story, they finally captured Ahmed Abu Khattala.
One thing that makes this capture so interesting is that he wasn’t hiding. Several news organizations had no problem finding him for interviews. The administration is claiming that it took 642 days to build the case against him. That is not the way it is done in normal cases. If there is reasonable suspicion the suspect is arrested and held while the investigation proceeds.
An article in the Washington Post reported that Abu Khattala, widely thought to have links to al Qaeda and openly opposed to the United States, came to ally himself to Ansar al-Sharia (Partisans of Islamic Law) a militia that espouses an extremely conservative Salafist strain of Islam.
Salafist means a return to the founders. There has been an effort to liberalize the religion of Islam, to change it from what Muhammad had made it and from what the Qur’an actually teaches. They have tried to make it kinder, gentler, etc. The Ottoman Empire was largely responsible for this liberalization. Since the end of the Ottoman Empire the Salafists have been on the rise.
The more Islam returns to its roots, the more Muslims follow their scriptures, the more violent it becomes. Jihad is the highest thing that a Muslim can perform. The only way a Muslim can have a guarantee of salvation and Paradise is to die as a martyr in jihad.
Fortunately not all Muslims in the world are following the fundamentals of this religion. Those who do have become our enemy and are taking up arms against us. They are the ones who have declared war on us simply because we are non-Muslims. Islam teaches that if you are not a Muslim you are an enemy of Allah and must convert or die.
This is the way it is in Islam. In Islam there are two worlds or houses. There is the house of Islam and the house of war. You are either a Muslim or you are the enemy. There is no middle ground.
Let’s get back to the subject of the capture of Ahmed Abu Khattala. He is on a slow boat to America. He will most likely be charged as a criminal instead of an enemy combatant. This means that there is a chance that Khattala may actually beat the rap and go free.
While claiming innocence. He has given a number of PUBLIC interviews with US News Agencies. A long 2013 investigation by the New York Times referenced a number of witnesses who placed Abu Khattala at the scene during the attack on the diplomatic post and said he appeared to be directing it.
In August, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia filed charges against him. Abu Khattala has also been named a “specially designated global terrorist.
Let’s look at another major blunder of the Obama Administration. What is happening in Iraq is a direct result of this administration’s foreign policy. The leader of ISIS (the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria), is Abu Bakr al Baghdadi. He was captured by the Bush Administration before Obama became President. When Obama took over he decided to shut down the prison where Baghdadi was being held. As a result he was released.
My source for this information is an article by Front Page Magazine.
The Bush surge was winning the war in Iraq. On October 22nd, 2007, Osama bin Laden admitted in an audio tape, entitled “Message to the people of Iraq,” that al Qaeda was losing the war in Iraq because it had made mistakes and no longer had the allegiance of Sunni insurgents who had switched sides.
We could have left a contingent force of 10,000 to maintain the security in the region. If we had it is unlikely we would have the present crisis in Iraq.
We have invested a lot there:
- $1 Trillion
- 4,487 total deaths
- 32,223 wounded in action
Obama administration decided to shut down the Bucca prison camp and hand over its prisoners to the Iraqi government, including Abu Bakr al Baghdadi, in 2009. The Iraqi government later released him. Al Baghadi boasted to the U.S. soldiers who had held him prisoner, “I’ll see you in New York.”
Abu Bakr al Baghdadi has re-emerged to become the leader of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
Wars have to be fought somewhere. It is better to fight the war on terrorism in the terrorist’s back yard instead of our own.
The big mistake was to try to do “nation building” afterward. You can’t have a western type democracy in a nation that is run by Muslims because Islam is opposed to the principles of democracy.
After having invested so much in money and lives, we have done nothing to protect that investment. Obama pulled our troops out telling us we had completed our job there and that it was time for us to leave. All of the military advisers were telling him differently.
Muslims are patient. They say “the Infidels have all the watches, but Muslims have all the Time.” They know we don’t have the patience to continue until the war is won. They have Viet Nam for an example where the military won the war and the politicians gave it way.
Muslims also know that we refuse to admit who the real enemy is. We haven’t figured out that our real enemy is Islam. You can’t beat an enemy if you don’t know who he is. We think we are fighting a few radicalized Muslims when, in fact, we are fighting the ideology of Islam. Until we understand this we will continue to make bad decisions and will win the battles on the ground, but lose the war.
Proverbs 29:2 keeps coming to mind because it paints the picture so well. “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.”
The wicked have reprobate minds and cannot make the right decisions in spiritual things. Make no mistake, this is a spiritual war. It is Jehovah God against Allah.
America is mourning because we keep putting wicked people in power. Until the hearts of the people are changed America cannot change. Revival is the only hope for America and I don’t see revival on the horizon.
