Christian Apologetics toward Islam and Missions to Muslims

Islam In Prophecy – Part 1

Listen to today’s broadcast:

Editor’s note – In today’s broadcast we will look at Islam in prophecy. We need to understand that prophecy, looking forward, is like looking through a fog. The major points are reasonably clear, but the details are difficult to discern. The closer we get to the events, the more clear the details become. Looking back the details become absolutely clear and we see that only God could have predicted them with such accuracy.

The views expressed in this broadcast are the views of Walid Shoebat and are not necessarily those of Fortress of Faith. I don’t say this, not to discredit his views, but to say that there may be some details that we disagree with. I want to emphasize that what Walid has to say is well worth listening to and studying out for yourself.

Some of the things we will be looking at today may be completely new to some of you. You may even take issue with some things you will hear. That is fine. We are trying to discern the details of some pretty cryptic language. We, in America, look at prophecy through the filter of our western culture. As Walid talks to us about prophecy, he is looking at it through his middle eastern culture. We need to remember that the Bible is a middle eastern book.

Listen carefully to the broadcast and then take some time to search the Scriptures to see what fits. If you find some things that you don’t think fits do as when you eat chicken, eat the meat and spit out the bones. The most important thing is to listen with an open mind and don’t reject something just because it is different from what you have been talk. Remember, much of prophecy is written in symbolic language, and symbols can me seen differently by different people.

shoebatWalid Shoebat has established himself as an expert on Bible prophecy. As you will see, he has put countless hours into his study of this subject.

First we want to look at the subject of the Antichrist. Each time Bible mentions the Antichrist it mentions the rejection of Jesus Christ as the Messiah.

Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. 1 John 2:18-23

And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 1 John 4:3

For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 2 John 1:7

Many people make the Catholic Church the Antichrist system. In spite of all of the errors of the Catholic Church, one thing that it gets right is the deity of Christ. It teaches that He is God, that He came and took on humanity (flesh), and that He is the Messiah (Christ). All of these are denied by Islam. The denial of these things are essential to Islam.

The first error that we make is trying to prove the case for Catholicism is to find the similarities. You must also look at the differences. There are many differences between Rome and Antichrist.

Here are some of the differences between the Catholic system and the Antichrist system:

  • The denial of Christ (Messiah, God) coming in the flesh

  • The denial of the fatherhood of God

  • The Antichrist system comes from the north – Rome is west and Turkey is north

When you make Turkey the beast (Antichrist) system and Arabia the harlot everything fits.

Pergamos, which is in Turkey is where Satan’s seat is.

And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges; I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan’s seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth. Revelation 2:12-13

The Bible talks about north, east, and south, but not the west. How could Rome be the Antichrist system?

The Antichrist shall honor a god of war (forces):

But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces (KJV Marginal notes: or munitions): and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. Daniel 11:38

Islam claims not to worship men, but it does. It worships Muhammad, for example.

Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 2 Thessalonians 2:4

Muhammad is called:

  • The savior

  • The glowing lamp, or the light of the world

  • He is the first and the last

  • Muhammad means “the praised one”

  • Muhammad is given a name after the name of Allah

The Antichrist comes out of the great sea. In the Bible this is always the Mediterranean sea. This tells us that the Antichrist will come out of the Mediterranean region.
