Before I get into the main subject I would like to give an explanation of our ministry for those who may be new to our website. Those who are not familiar with our ministry might be a little puzzled about our purpose. We are a Christian ministry but we talk about Islam and political issues and I would like to explain why we do this.
Our ministry is both an apologetic ministry and a missionary ministry. The apologetic side is giving a defence for our faith. When false teaching is presented we take those things on and defend our position. Sometimes we do this by exposing the error and sometimes we do this by presenting the arguments for our faith.
The reason we call ourselves Fortress of Faith is because a fort is a defensive structure. We are not on the offense, attacking the enemy, we are on defense, defending our faith against the attacks of the enemy. The enemy of the Christian faith we are defending against is Islam. It is not the people of Islam, the Muslims, it is the ideology of Islam.
Islam is an ideology masquerading as a religion. We believe it to be a satanic ideology. It is contrary to the teachings of the true God and it is contrary to the values we cherish here in the West. We value freedom and Islam does not. Islam destroys freedom. Islam means submission or surrender and the whole mission of Islam is to bring people under submission to Islam.
We oppose Islam because it is false. We expose Islam because we must know our enemy if we are to overcome him.
The second aspect of our ministry is missions. We address the Muslims through our efforts to get the Gospel out to them.
The name of our ministry comes from Jeremiah 6:27:
I have set thee for a tower and a fortress among my people, that thou mayest know and try their way.
There must be someone standing on the wall that alerts the people and brings their attention to the enemy when he shows up. It is the responsibility of Christians to try the spirits to see if they are good or evil. The Bible tells us that God’s people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.3
Now let’s finish up this series on the myth of islamophobia.
Should We Have A Rational Fear Of Islam?
The answer to this question is absolutely yes. As I said earlier, Shahram has a healthy fear of Islam. He is one who left the faith and according to the teachings of the Prophet of Islam himself, as well as accepted Islamic doctrine by both the Sunni and the Shia Muslims, he should be killed. This is the prescribed punishment for him if he doesn’t return to Islam.
Even though Shahram gets threats once in a while from “peaceful Muslims,” he is somewhat safe because we are in America. If he were to return to his birth country, Iran, he would be sentenced to death because Islamic, that is Sharia, law rules the land. He has a healthy, rational fear of Islam.
What about those of us who are not former Muslims, should we have a fear of Islam? Many Muslims will tell you the jihad is the sixth pillar of Islam. Here is the Muslim definition of jihad:
Reliance of the Traveller, Section O 9.0
Jihad means to war against non-Muslims and is etymologically derived from the word mujahadah signifying warfare to establish the religion.
The Reliance of the Traveller is that standard manual on Sharia law accepted by all major schools in the Islamic world.
It goes on to quote passages out of the Qur’an and the Sunnah that say things like fighting is prescribed for you, slay them where ever you find them, fight the idolaters utterly, etc.
Jihad is important to Muslims because the only way a Muslim can guarantee entrance into Paradise is to die performing jihad.
We do have a legitimate reason to fear Islam. This does not mean we are to fear every Muslim because not every Muslim is going to follow the teachings of Islam. We can be thankful about that.
The majority of Muslims in the world don’t have a clue about what their faith really teaches. They are born into it, they are cultural Muslims and they stay in it out of fear. If they leave or renounce Islam they will be subject to the death penalty.
One of the most revealing statements was made by Sheik Yusuf al-Qaradawi, who said, “without the ‘Death for Apostasy’ laws, Islam would have failed with the death of Mohamed, as people would never stay in this religion otherwise.”
Islam is a religion of fear. It strikes fear in the hearts of non-believers and in the hearts of believers.
It is a myth to say that we have nothing to fear from Islam. Just listen to what the Muslims who really believe the Qur’an are saying. Their goal is that we either convert or die.
All you have to do is look at the number of Christians who have died in Syria and Iraq over the last number of months. Do the Christians in those country have a rational reason to fear Islam? They are given three choices, they can convert to Islam, they can pay the jizya tax, which will make them a second class citizen and allow Muslims to abuse them however they desire, including the rape of their women, or they can die.
Some will say that this is “radical Islam.” No, this is Islam! This is what the Prophet did, this is what the early Muslims did, and this is the commandment of Islam. Islam is to strike fear in the hearts of unbelievers.
We, in America, should not have a fear of Islam because it is fully in place. It is not. We should fear it because it is Islam’s goal to overthrow our way of life.
Our ministry and other similar ministries are doing all we can to stop this from happening. We are warning because we have seen what happens when Islam takes over.
One of Shaham’s friends from Nigeria told him that when Nigeria was predominately Christian he had Muslim friends playing next door. When Nigeria became predominately Muslim those same friends turned on him and burned down their house. Was it a rational fear or an irrational fear he had toward these neighbors?
We need to be wise and courageous and not let these labels shut us down. We must continue to warn people about the dangers of underestimating what Islam really is.
The sad thing is that the using of labels works. We see liberals calling anyone who disagrees with Obama racists. One of the worst things you can be called in America is a racist. I bring this up because those Muslims who are trying to overthrow our way of life have taken a page out of the Civil Rights Movement.
In Washington State, for the last four years, CAIR has had a rally at the State Capital on Martin Luther King’s birthday. They are now calling that day, Muslims Day. They have hijacked Martin Luther King Day to promote their agenda. They are trying to make themselves the new civil rights cause. They claim they are being persecuted just as the blacks were in America. We can see that the facts don’t back this up.
When politicians like the Governor of Washington speak at and legitimize this movement, when you have Jimmy Carter, the so-called Christian president, speaking at an ISN conference, another front group for the Muslim Brotherhood, it is perpetuating the myth of Islamophobia.
We must stand up at say that this is not a civil rights cause, it is an attempt to overthrow our way of life. The treatment of blacks before the civil rights movement was nothing like what is happening to Muslims.
What Muslims are after is specialized treatment so that we overlook the reality of what Islam really is.
Being black is not a religion. Being black is what you are and nothing can change it. The civil rights movement was a good thing. It was wrong to disadvantage people just because of their skin color.
The issue of Islam is a religious issue and it is about ideology. It is about overthrowing our nation and making us all submit to Islam. Submit is, by the way, the meaning if the word Islam.
We must not let the labels stop us. We must continue spreading the truth about Islam.
