Christian Apologetics toward Islam and Missions to Muslims

Islam, the Anti-Christ Religion – Part 3

IslamicAntichristWhat does Islam teach about the deity of Christ? The Qur’an denies the deity of Christ in no uncertain terms.

Surah 4:171 O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) a messenger of Allah, ….. so believe in Allah and His messengers. Say not “Trinity” : desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah: Far be it from the glory of Allah that he should have a son.

This verse warns us as Christians, the People of the Book, against saying there is a Trinity, which they believe means three gods. It tells us that it is beneath Allah to have a son. This sounds to me like a pretty strong denial of the deity of Christ and His being the Son of God.

Earlier in the same chapter the Qur’an says:

They said in boast, those who killed Christ, Isa the son of Mary…But they killed him not nor crucified him so that it may appear that they killed him, for a a surety they killed him not.

What did they say in boast? They said they killed Him. The Qur’an says that Allah made it appear that they crucified Jesus, but they did not. They believe that it was probably Judas, whom Allah made to look like Jesus, who was crucified.

If Islam denies the crucification, which would mean it has to deny the resurrection, are they not denying the central precept of Christianity? If you take the resurrection away from Christianity you have destroyed the whole thing. This is exactly what Islam wants to do.

The Qur’an also says that Allah is above having a son.

Surah 39:4; Had Allah wished to take to Himself a son, He could have chosen whom He pleased out of those whom He doth create: but Glory be to Him! (He is above such things.) He is Allah, the One, the Irresistible.

Allah could have taken to himself a son if he wanted to, but this is below him.

The Arabic of Surah 112:3 says, “He begets not, nether is he begotten.” This means that Allah cannot beget so he is not a father, and he is not begotten so he is not a son. This verse is important because Muslims are commanded to pray this verse daily.

It is important to know that Muslims, whether they speak Arabic or not, are commanded to pray in Arabic. Since only about 15% of Muslims are Arabs the vast majority have to learn to recite their prayers in Arabic, often not knowing what they mean.

How could it be any more clear that Islam denies both the Father and the Son? This is not only in their doctrine, they are praying it multiple times a day. If this isn’t the antichrist spirit, what is?

When I was in Israel I visited the Dome of the Rock. The oldest written Qur’an is on the walls inside. It is not written in the Arabic script because the Arabic script was not yet formed. On the outside they have a more modern Arabic script. It has quotes from the Qur’an and it repeats the phrase “Allah hath no son” again and again.

This is telling Christians that they are wrong. The most central principle of Christianity is denied by Islam. It should be clear when we look at the Bible’s description of the spirit of antichrist that Islam fits perfectly.

Christians may be surprised to know that Islam also has scripture talking about future events. They believe in an antichrist, their messiah (Mahdi), and they are waiting for Jesus (Isa) to return. Isa is not going to be the messiah, he will be subservient to the Islamic Mahdi. He will do those things that the biblical false prophet will do. As I study Islamic prophecy it is like putting my Bible up to a mirror, everything is reversed. The one we call the Antichrist is who Muslims call the Mahdi. They call our Messiah the Antichrist. The false prophet of Revelation seems to be the Muslim Isa (Jesus).
