Should God bring judgment on the United States? Let’s start by considering her sins. According to the FBI there are 18,000 murders every year in America. There are an estimated 100,000 abortions every month. Since 1973 we have killed nearly 60,000,000 babies in their mother’s womb.
In the Bible you never hear the term “pregnant.” Every time a woman is pregnant, the Bible uses the term “with child.” What do you think is growing in that womb? Can you imagine 100,000 abortions every month? This is the greatest sin of our nation.
Look at the sinful activities in which we involve ourselves. USA Today has reported that 50-60% of adult married people have committed adultery. Premarital sex among women under 19 is up to 70%. By men it is at 80%. Forty-five million Americans have herpes. Thirty-three percent of the births in America are born to unmarried mothers. America spends 13 billion dollars on pornography every year. There are over 600,000 rapes each year. I don’t have the statistics for Canada, but I Imagine that it is just as bad up there, as it is is most Western nations.
Do we, as Christians, really think that we can allow this wickedness in our nation and not expect God’s judgment? The sad thing is that these statistics are not much different with those who claim to be Christians.
I believe God brings judgment to nations. When we look at Scripture we see that there are certain ways that He does this. Look at how God dealt with Israel. Time and time again they would turn away from Him and He would have to bring judgment upon them.
I see a pattern in Scripture. The first thing God does is allow a series of calamities. They begin to reap what they have sown.
Let’s look at how our founding fathers feared God. James Madison, who was the author of our Bill of Rights, during the Constitutional Convention discussed individual and national judgment by God. Can you imagine our politicians discussing God’s judgment today? He said:
As nations cannot be punished or rewarded in the next world, so they must be in this, through an inevitable chain of causes and effects. Providence punishes national sins by national calamities.
Oh how true that is. I believe that one of the ways God judges nations is that He leaves them to their sins and the consequences thereof. Look at the brokenness we have in many homes today. Look at the pain and suffering that is in our nation. I am convinced that this is because of the sinful activities we allow in our nation.
Another thing that God does is leave them to economic ruin. Remember the story of Israel when they had the wicked king Ahab? God raised up a prophet named Elijah. Elijah stood before Ahab and announced that it would not rain until Elijah said it would. Elijah was announcing economic ruin upon Israel. Remember, Israel was an agricultural society at the time. No rain would bring economic disaster.. If you follow the story you will see that God’s people were always provided for.
I remember back in 2008, when I came off the mission field, I arrived just as the banking systems were closing down. I remember all the fear in this nation at that time. What was our nation’s basic problem? It was out of control spending and debt that we could not sustain. What did our government officials do to solve the problem? They told us to continue spending and to go into more debt. The government set the example by doing the same thing.
Another way that God brings judgment is through the raising up of an enemy. In the Old Testament the Philistines, the Assyrians, and the Babylonians were used of God to judge Israel.
Jeremiah, speaking for God sid, “Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, my servant.” This wicked king was used as a servant of God to bring destruction and judgment upon His people.
It is my belief that God has raised up an enemy to bring judgment upon America. I believe that Islam is that enemy. I don’t say this with any malice in my heart. The ministry that God has called me to is largely a warning ministry. It is similar to the ministry of a prophet. A prophet’s job was to warn God’s people of coming danger or judgment. When the children of God were living in rebellion, God said to Jeremiah:
I have set thee for a tower and a fortress among my people, that thou mayest know and try their way. Jeremiah 6:27
That is what what Fortress of Faith is trying to be, a tower, a fortress, a place where we may know and try the way of us as children of God. We can see the work of a watchman in Ezekiel Chapter 3. The watchman was to look out for danger and to warn the wicked. In verse 18 and 19 it says:
When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. Ezekiel 3:18-19
I don’t want blood on my hands. This is why I am standing up and saying that wickedness is wrong. It is rampant in our nation and Christians are not doing their job of being salt and light, to stand for God’s righteousness. In fact Christians are, themselves, involved in the same sins. I believe that God is justified in bringing judgment upon us.
I am not a prophet, nor the son of a prophet, but I am a preacher, and the son of a preacher. I can understand how a religious person feels his duty to his Scriptures, to follow the commands of his God.
I fear that a devoted Muslim, an orthodox, fundamentalist Muslim, who truly believes his Qur’an, is going to be a very dangerous person. I believe he is taught to lie to the non-Muslims so that he might advance the cause of Islam in a non-Muslim country.
I believe that the Qur’an teaches them, in Chapter 9:29, to fight non-Muslims:
Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the last day, nor hold that which has been forbidden by Allah and his messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of truth, even if they are the people of the book, until they pay the jizya with willing submission and feel themselves subdued.
I believe that Muslims that are devoted and true believers of their Qur’an have an obligation to fight against us as non-believers and to bring us into submission. If we are a Christian or a Jew they are permitted to give us an option to live as a slave, to to pay the jizya, the slave tax, to do it with willing submission and to be subdued. I believe that it is the mission of all believing Muslims to bring the world into submission to Allah.
If you pay attention to what we see in the news, you will see that there is a revival for fundamentalist, orthodox Islamic living. It is on the march today. Throughout the Muslim world they are in arms. They are working in their countries to bring a revival of Islam.
Many Americans today suspect that we have elected a Muslim into the Oval Office. Iran is on the rise and is provoking the West with their naval vessels in the Mediterranean Sea. They are vocal about their desire to destroy Israel. They are stockpiling weapons in Syria.
European leaders today are ringing their hands over the mistakes they have made by being tolerant and politically correct to the Muslims for so long. For them it may be too late.
We are living in interesting days. If we don’t heed the voices of warning it may be too late for us.
