Christian Apologetics toward Islam and Missions to Muslims

America’s Wickedness Is Before God – Part 4

hammer-311342_640Let’s talk more about Proverbs 29:2 and the righteous and the unrighteous ruling. When the unrighteous rule, the people of God mourn. This is what we hear when we talk to Christians all over the nation. We know that in just about every area of our government, the unrighteous are ruling.

We have reached a point in America where Christians are in spiritual captivity. The Bible says:

Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 2 Corinthians 3:17

In our nation you can’t discuss Christianity in the public square. You can’t mention Jesus, God, or the Bible in our schools. The Ten Commandments are banned, abortion and homosexuality have been legalized. Everything that is against the Word of God is promoted, and everything Christian is forbidden. It seems like, as we remove Christianity from public life, Islam is given cart blanch. Islam is being promoted in our schools and in our communities.

According to this administration you can’t say anything negative about Islam. If we do we are called haters, bigots, etc.

We need to understand that God is looking at our nation, and He is not indifferent. Sometimes people think He doesn’t see what is going on, but He does. We need to understand that God is a righteous judge. He demands righteousness and will judge unrighteousness. God not only expects righteousness of Christians, He expects it of everyone. Judgment is coming.

In Jonah Chapter 2 God tells a Jew to go to non-Jews, Gentiles, and warn them of coming judgment for their unrighteousness.

Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me. Jonah 1:2

I assure you, America’s wickedness is before God. He sees it all.

The root cause of what is going on in our world is the evil in man’s heart. We have chosen not to follow God as a nation, and God has given us up. Just read Romans Chapter 1. Three times in this chapter God gave them up to, or over to something bad.

Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Romans 1:24

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: Romans 1:26

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Romans 1:28

Because God has given us over to a reprobate mind, we are now carrying out the passions of the flesh. We are reaping the fruit of our actions. The Bible says that if we walk in the spirit we will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16

Most of us are familiar with the fruit of the Spirit, but listen to what the Bible tells us is the fruit of the flesh:

For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:17-21

Doesn’t this sound a lot like the America we live in today? When you remove God from public life you remove goodness. All that is left is wickedness. As Christians, we are called to be salt and light in this evil world. If we don’t do our job to bring God’s laws, His standards, and His ways, into our society we are just as guilty as those who want to take these things away.

The problem is not really the godless man because he is going to do what he is going to do. He lives after the flesh, and we should expect the fruit of the flesh from him.

The real problem is that the saints of God will not stand up for righteousness. I believe the reason most who call themselves Christians don’t stand up for righteousness is that they are not living righteously themselves. It is hard to point out someone else’s sin when we are living in sin.

Judgment must first begin with Christians.

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 1 Peter 4:17

Christians are refusing to submit to God’s precepts. They will be judged first. If those in the house of God will be judge, how much worse will it be for those who reject God and His precepts?

We have bought into the nonsense that Christians should not engage the culture, that it is not our business. Christians are to live righteously, but they are also to call others to righteousness. The Bible says that righteousness exalts a nation. We don’ exalt our nation by hiding, we do so by standing for righteousness.

We have allowed our government to remove the God of the Bible from every aspect of our society. The government has made it illegal for Christians to practice their faith outside of their churches and homes. Oregon, where this shooting happened, has legalized homosexuality, abortion, euthanasia, marijuana, etc. This is the state where they went after the bakers who would not participate in a homosexual wedding. It cost them $135,000 and they were given a gag order so they cannot tell others what happened.

People think that societies sins have no consequences. It is not that God caused this event to happen, it is that He allows us the freedom to do what we want, and allows the consequences of what we choose to do. If you remove good, you are left with evil.

Jesus warned us in Matthew 10 that there is a cost for discipleship:

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. Matthew 10:22

You will notice that it says those who follow Christ will be hated of ALL men. If we stand for the name of Christ we should not expect this world to love us. The Greek word translated hate in this passage is “mesio.: This is the word from which we get our word “misery.” They will be miserable in our company if we live Christ-like lives.

I believe we have reached a point where society not only can’t tolerate God, it cannot tolerate Christians. Our very presence pricks their conscience and they are miserable.

I think we need to be prepared for persecution. We should not be afraid of it, but we should be prepared for it. God will take us through any persecution He allows us to go through, and He will receive glory from it.

There is only one thing that can stay God’s hand of judgment upon America. We see it in the example of Nineveh. God pronounced judgment upon Nineveh, and when they repented, from the king to the beggar, God spared them and stayed His judgment. If we, as a nation, repent, God will stay His judgment. If we don’t, there is no hope.

If you are near Hickory, NC I want to invite you to a very special meeting this coming Saturday, October 17. It will run from 10:00 am till noon. It is a local chapter meeting of Act for America. I have been invited to speak about the Islamic immigration issues that are facing North Carolina. Some of the Syrian refugees are being placed in North Carolina and we want to talk to our community about this. We need to be informed so we can know what we can do make sure that our communities are protected. We must insure that there is an effort to get these refugees to assimilate into the American culture rather than them trying to change our culture into an Islamic society.

We will be meeting at the Tri-City Baptist Church, 1409 Hwy 16 N Conover, NC. When you get there you go past the church to the rear and you will see the office doors.
