Today I want to look at the security risks we face with the Syrian refugee issue and what the experts have to say on the issue. We will also look at what President Obama is telling us We will try to make some sense of all that is going on.
Before we get into this I want to remind you that we are in our fund-raising month. We try to limit the times we make appeals for financial support to once in the spring and once in the fall. Sometimes we really have to push the issue because our bank accounts are running low. This is the situation we find ourselves in right now. Our goal at this time is $30,000.00. We usually start our fall drive in October but this year we got started a month late. As a result we find ourselves struggling to get our bills for air time paid. If you can help us with any donation of any amount it would be a great help. You can do so by calling 1-800-616-0082.
Let me also remind you that Muslims are victims of Islam. It is true that some do what they do because they are rebellious, but most of them do it because they are people of faith. They are doing what they think Allah has commanded them to do. They are doing what the Islamic scriptures and the teachings of their Prophet tell them to do.
Muslims need the Gospel. I can only talk to so many people but through this ministry I can help Christians learn how to reach Muslims for Christ. Many people tell me that they hated Muslims and wanted them out of our country before listening to our broadcasts. Many even wanted them all dead. They knew as a Christian that this was wrong. They say we have helped them understand that Islam is the problem and Muslims are victims that need to be rescued.
Some tell me that because of what they have learned from Fortress of Faith, they have been able to lead a Muslim to Christ. Somewhere between 70 and 80 Muslims have been reached for Christ by those who follow our ministry.
Our ministry is a ministry of warning, ut it is also a ministry of love. We love Muslims and don’t want them to spend an eternity in the Lake of Fire. Our hearts rejoice the most when we hear of a Muslim who gets saved.
We have a couple of campaigns we are offering at this time. One of these campaigns is what we call Sponsor a Day. We are on 50 stations for our daily broadcast and another 250 stations for our weekly broadcast. Fundraising for the weekly broadcast is done on those stations, but today we are trying to raise funds for the daily broadcasts. It costs us about $200.00 a day for the daily air time. Maybe you could sponsor one day of broadcasting by giving a gift of $200.00. If the Lord has blessed you with sufficient means, maybe you could sponsor a couple of days, or maybe even a week. If you can’t sponsor a day at $200.00, maybe you could split it into for monthly payments of $50.00. For those who join this campaign we have a special gift. Shahram Hadian, our co-host for the weekly broadcast, has just finished a DVD on the true face of Islam. He has made this available to those who sponsor a day.
Our other campaign is what we call our Army of Ten. This is a pledge of $10.00 a month on a continuing basis. This is a tremendous help to our ministry.
Again, if you can help in any way, call us at 1-800-616-0082. You can also give by clicking the Donate tab above.
Now lets get into the issue of the refugees. At the G-20 meeting Obama said we are going to give these refugees some rigorous screening and serious security checks before we let them in. President Obama has a real credibility issue. He has failed on many fronts in dealing with Islamic terrorism. He can’t even bring himself to call it Islamic terrorism. When we were attacked at Ft. Hood he called it “workplace violence.” He traded 5 Taliban soldiers for 1 deserter. Two days after the attack in Paris he released 5 more of them. How can we trust what he does and says? We have a choice, we can trust Obama or we can trust the security professionals.
More than 30 governors have said they will not let these refugees into their states. Remember, America is made of of 50 countries united under a federal government. These governors do have power over what happens in their states. They are telling Obama that if he won’t protect their citizens, they will.
Obama has not really been fighting ISIS. He has done just enough to say he is doing something, but he is not fighting to win. Since the Russians and the French have been hit by ISIS they have started bombing targets that we knew about, but refused to hit. Targets like training camps where they train those who they send into our countries to carry out attacks like what we just saw in Paris.
On February 26th the House Judiciary Committee, Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security, and Investigations was briefed by 3 security experts. One of these experts was Michael Steinbeck FBI Assistant Director, Counter Terrorism. The vetting of the refugees and the lessons they learned from Iraq was the subject being discussed. Two terrorists came into our country posing as refugees from Iraq at that time. Here is what Steinbeck said:
I said there’s a lack of databases so we learned our lesson with the Iraqi refugee population. We put in place a ??? wide background and vetting process that we found to be effective.
The difference in Iraq, we were on the ground collecting so we had databases to use. The concern in Syria, the lack of our footprint on the ground in Syria is the databases will not have the information we need so it is not that we have a lack of process, it’s there’s a lack of information……
In Iraq we had boots on the ground and we were able to glean information from the local police and other sources. In spite of this some still got through. In Syria we don’t have this same advantage. You need to understand that we have to be perfect every time. The terrorists only need to succeed one time and many lives can be lost.
Congressman John Katko (R-NY) asked:
And are there certain ways you can suggest that we can go about to get this information?
To which Steinbeck responded:
I don’t think you can just go and get it. We can’t just go and get it (information). Your talking about a country that is failed, that does not have an infrastructure so to speak. All the data sets, the police, the intel services you would normally go to seek that information doesn’t exist.
Let this sink in for a moment. We can’t get the data we need because there is no data to collect.
And that obviously raises grave concern about being able to do proper background checks of anyone coming into the country?
To which Steinbeck responded:
This is consistent with what FBI Director James Comey said:
My concern there is there are certain gaps … in the data available to us,
Here we have the Director o fht FBI telling us that our system is full of holes. When pressed in another situation he said:
…. we can query our database until the cows come home, but there will be nothing showing up because we have no record of them,
In other words, we cannot vet these refugees because there is nothing available to tell us whether they are good or bad. All we have is their word.
We have a credibility issue with our President, who wants to bring in 10,000 Syrian refugees in 2016 and another 100,000 in 2017. We have already seen that ISIS has made good on its promise of putting their soldiers in among he refugees. At least one of the terrorists in Paris came in with the refugees.
The United Nations tells us who we get in this refugee program. It is the UN that us pushing Muslins on us. America is 1% Muslim and 99% everything else. My suggestion is that we tell Obama we will accept their refugees only if we receive them in the same ratio as the population of our country. In other words, for every 99 non-Muslims we bring in, we will accept one Muslim. We also should insist that, since our gender balance is about one woman for every man, for every man we bring in, we also bring in one woman. I believe this would greatly reduce the risk of terrorists mixing in with the refugees.
