Today I want to bring a challenge from the Word of God. We are going to start with a passage from 2 Kings. This was a time when the King of Israel was at war with the King of Syria. The King of Syria was plotting to kill the King of Israel and every attempt to snare the King of Israel and kill him is being discovered and foiled. It seems like there was a traitor in the Syrian camp.
The King of Syria was frustrated by the fact that the King of Israel was finding out about the plots. His commanders told him that it was not them, it was the Prophet of God, Elisha. He was the one that was revealing the secret plans formed in the bedchamber of the Syrian King. As a result the King of Syria put forth a plot to kill Elisha. They learned tate Elisha was in Dothan and they brought all of their chariots there and put the city under siege. The servant of Elisha went out in the morning and saw to Syrian army. He asked Elisha what they were going to do.
And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do? 2 Kings 6:15
He essentially said to Elisha, We’re dead, what are we going to do. In verse 16 Elisha tells how God is going to deliver them.
And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. 2 Kings 6:16
I am sure that the servant was confused when he looked around and saw no one but the Syrian army. Elisha prayed that God would open his servant’s eyes.
And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. 2 Kings 6:17
When you and I open our eyes and realize that we are on the side of Jehovah God we are always in the majority even if to the natural eye there are just a few of us. Verse 18 tells us how God delivered them.
And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the LORD, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha. 2 Kings 6:18
I am sharing this passage with you because I feel that to often we see the problems facing us as insurmountable. As we see our governmental leaders as upholding ungodliness, immorality and lawlessness we often feel there is no more hope.
People often say to me something like, The Lord will come soon and we can kiss all this mess goodbye. It would surly be wonderful if this would happen, and I live with the hope that it will. I believe in the eminent return of the Lord. However, we cannot plan on this happening. We must occupy until he comes (Luke 18:13). If we live as if the Lord is coming back tomorrow and He doesn’t come back for another generation or two, what will we leave for our children?
I feel that I may have made a mistake in how I have structured this ministry. We inform people on the truths about Islam, and we need to do this. I think the mistake I have made is just informing you. I haven’t been challenging you to act upon what you have been learning.
We need to raise up an army of godly leaders in our nation who will not only hear the message, but who will act upon it.
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. James 1:22
We are deceiving ourselves if we think just knowing the truth is enough. We need people who will stand for the precepts of God. We live in a day when there are few people of courage.
I remember hearing and reading of the heroes of WWII. I think of the Ten Boom family in Holland taking in Jews and hiding them in their home. They built a secret hiding place in an upstairs bedroom and protecting them from the Nazis.
They were eventually caught, but those they hid were not found. The father and the two sisters were placed in a concentration camp and we heard the story from Corriie Ten Boom. Just before her sister, Betsy passed away, Corrie was loosing faith. Betsy reminded her that “there is no pit that is so deep that God is not deeper still.” I want to remind you that if we are on God’s team, we are on the winning team.
I fear for our nation today because we have, for the most part, failed at our job of being the salt and light that God has called us to be. We are afraid to take a stand and speak up. We are censoring ourselves. It seems that we fear man more than God.
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28
We censor ourselves because the world doesn’t want to hear what God has to say. Sadly, it is not just in the pew, it is also in the pulpit.
We are facing an enemy that is determined to destroy liberty, freedom, and even Christianity. Our enemy is not the Muslim, it is Islam. The meaning of Islam is surrender and submission. Islam does not mean peace like some would have us believe. The goal of Islam is peace because it believes that once the world has been rid of all the kufar, the unbelievers, and the world is fully submitted to Allah, there will be peace. They believe that this will only happen when they have either forced everyone to become Muslim, or they have annihilated all who will not submit to Islam’s god. This is what Muhammad taught and it is what the Islamic scriptures teach.
Under Islam there is no freedom to choose which god you worship. There is no freedom to choose who governs you or how you are going to be governed.
Christianity promotes freedom. We don’t have freedom from the consequences of our choices, but we do have freedom to choose. We are free to worship God or not to worship God. We are free to choose what type of government we want to live under. These are values that we cherish in America. if we don’t stand for the principles that our founders gave us in our Constitution we will loose them.
For Islam to become what it wants to become, it must destroy our whole way of life. We must face this fact. We need to be informed and we must stand firm against this evil. Edmund Burk wisely said:
All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
If good people see evil and do nothing to expose and stop it, then it will triumph.
But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take [any] person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand. Ezekiel 33:6
Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a preacher in Germany during the time of Nazism and Hitler, saw the evil in his country and government and he said:
Silence in the face of evil is evil itself.
Oh how true this is! God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak, is to speak. Not to act is to act. if we don’t speak up and do something we are allowing the evil to grow.
We need leaders to stand up for righteousness. We must win these arguments with our families, our friends, and those with whom we work and study.
I encourage you to continue following Fortress of faith so you can keep up with what is going on. I encourage you to get my book “Refuting Islam” so you will have the tools to win the arguments. This book explains the issues we are facing and gives proper arguments we should be making. It uses the words of Islam to refute the popular ideas about this evil ideology. It will give you the tools to convince any open minded person that Islam is evil and is a threat to our way of life.
Will you join me at the corner of Truth and Courage and stand against this evil ideology. If you don’t we will loose this nation and our way of life.
