When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. (Proverbs 29:2)
Today we mourn with our Canadian friends. Sadly it has been confirmed that a hostage held by an Islamic organization in the Philippines, a group that has pledged loyalty to ISIS, has beheaded Robert Hall. We offer our condolences to his family. Last April they also beheaded John Ridsdel. These men were held for ransom. It is a hard thing to see this happen. Governments cannot pay because it will just put more of our citizens in danger if they do.
If we go back in history we see this is the way it always works. America’s first war on foreign soil was against the Barbary Pirates (Muslims) who were capturing our ships and holding our people for ransom. John Adams, our second President, payed them. It was so bad that it was bankrupting our treasury. Thankfully Thomas Jefferson, our third President had more sense and formed our Marine Corps to defeat these Muslim pirates and end the problem.
It is my hope that Canadian Prime Minister, Trudeau, would take this opportunity to show the world true leadership. He needs to show the Islamic world that if you mess with Canadian citizens it will be the last thing they do. He needs to hit it hard and bring a lot of pain to the Muslim organizations that were involved. I fear, however, that he will follow the failed policies of President Obama in dealing with Islam.
I want to draw your attention to something we hear from time to time. There is a claim by liberals and Muslims that right-wing extremism is a bigger threat to America that Islamic terrorism. Newsweek Magazine has an article entitled “Right-Wing Extremists Are a Bigger Threat to America Than ISIS.” It was published on February 4th, 2016. It has a picture that is subtitled:
The truth is, our founders knew that we have to create roadblocks for our government to protect our freedoms. Government can get too big for its britches and we must control its power. One of the most important tools our founders gave us to control the government is the Second Amendment. It allows the people to be armed and form militias in order to keep the government from becoming a tyrant.
The Second Amendment says the government cannot infringe in any way the right of the people to bear arms and form militias. Our government sees these people as the enemy because they are practicing what our founders gave us the right to do.
Here is a portion of this article:
They and untold thousands like them are the extremists who hide among us, the right-wing militants who, since 2002, have killed more people in the United States than jihadis have.
They quote a think tank called “New America.” I went to their website to examine the evidence. Of course, what happened in Orlando this last weekend really threw there numbers off. The attacks by Islamic terrorists jumped by 49 so the number is now 94 to 48.
For the sake of discussion lets forget about the 49 from last week and go to the figures when the article was written. This makes it appear that there were more people killed by right-wingers than by Islamic terrorists. However, when you look at the crimes and what they were about, you are forced to ask if they really expect us to accept this?
Three people in the 48 were killed in botched robberies. The fact that there may have been some connection with with militias or white supremacist groups they add them to the list even though they didn’t do it because of hate for those they killed.
There are certainly people who are anti-government. Nine of those killed had this philosophy. One was killed because of an anti-police philosophy. four people were killed because they worked in abortion clinics. Thirteen were killed for racist motives. Eleven of the killers were Nazis. there were four Jews killed.
The point is that these numbers do not add up to what should be called right-wing attacks. This is the propaganda the left is trying to sell to us.
I also went through the FBI list of terrorist attacks done by Islamists, not necessarily on American soil, but on Americans, including at our embassies, since 2001. I didn’t count those attacks on our military bases. When you add in these numbers, remember these are Americans attacked by jihadis, you add another 49 people killed. In the column of violent attacks against Americans by jihadis should be 143. Compare the real number of 143 with their number of 48 right-wing attacks and you can see that they are cooking the books. They really want us to believe that America has more problems with right-wing extremists than with Islamic terrorists. It you add to this the number of Islamic terrorist attacks that have been thwarted by our national security agencies, you will see that the Islamists are much more dangerous than the right-wing extremists.
When you hear this kind of thing you must challenge their evidence. Get to the facts. Statistics can be manipulated to say pretty much what you want them to say.
The truth is that the liberals really don’t have much of a case when they try to tell us that Islam is not a problem. Islam is not a religion of peace, it is a religion of submission and death.
Now there is a conflict in the liberal world because they have become buddies with some Muslims in the fight against conservatism and the Christian viewpoint in America. The Orlando attack is an awakening to the real face of Islam. This may hurt Islam more than Muslims realize. Not only are the patriots and the Christians standing up against this, but some liberals are also turning on the Islamic terrorists.
