I want to start out today by reminiscing a bit. At the end of this month we are saying goodbye to The station manager of our home station KARI, Gary Nawman. Gary has valiantly served this station for over 40 years. In a way we are saying goodbye to our captain. I want to wish him and his family God’s blessing as he enters into a new chapter of his life.
He is not the kind of person to beat his own drum and he may be a bit embarrassed by what I am going to say, but I want my listeners to know that Gary really was instrumental in the beginning years of our radio ministry. When we started out it was something totally new to me. I had never been involved with radio before. He was a great help to us and without his guidance we may never have gotten off the ground. We have become friends, and I am grateful for the help he and his staff have provided us. We are looking forward to working with the new station manager.
We are proud to be part of the KARI family. We are also thankful to all of you great listeners for your prayer and financial support. Your love and encouragement has really helped us through the difficult times we have gone through.
I want to go back to the beginning and look at were we have come. Our ministry evolved a bit during those beginning years. When I first came to KARI our ministry was called “Revive America.” God called me off the mission field to come back to my home country and warn my countrymen of God’s impending judgment because of our wickedness. North America has become a rebellious people and have turned against God and His ways. When you turn against God and His precepts there are consequences.
The first goal of our ministry when we started was reviving America. We wanted to call God’s people to repentance. I felt somewhat like the Old Testament prophets. When God gave them a message it was most often a message of impending judgment. They would tell the people to repent or their would be dire consequences.
The judgment often came by God raising up another nation as an enemy. At other times there were things like famine and other calamities. It was always the hope of the prophets that the pain God inflicted upon them would bring them to repentance so He could again bless them. Once the judgment had run its course, God would then rebuke and chastise the nations that had lifted their hand against His people.
This was my message when I started. Part of the message was exposing how God was using Islam to bring judgment upon America and the West.
Another part of our ministry has been rescuing Muslims from Islam. I often say, “Don’t blame Muslims for Islam, they need to be rescued from it.” They are the fist victims of Islam.
Our ministry still has the same three goals:
- Revive America
- Refute Islam
- Rescue Muslims
When I first came to KARI, it was Gary who came up with the name “Fortress of Faith.” I liked the name, but I needed confirmation from God that this was the right name. That evening God gave me the following verse:
Jer 6:27 I have set thee for a tower and a fortress among my people, that thou mayest know and try their way.
In many ways our ministry has be come a watchman on the wall kind of ministry. I love the idea of a fortress. A fortress is a defensive tool. It is where we stand firm against the enemy. We are not fighting an offensive battle, we are fighting defensively.
I remember my first broadcast. I probably recorded it 10 or 11 times before I was satisfied with it. Some of you may have been listening since that very first broadcast. It was the first Monday of February, 2011.
When we finally decided to do the broadcasts, I had one week to put it all together. In the beginning it took me 6 to 8 hours to do a 15 minute broadcast. We didn’t have a staff and even to this day, most of my help comes from my family. I was the research team, the broadcaster, the editor, the publisher, the program director, in essence I did everything.
In many ways this ministry is that of a prophet. A prophet’s ministry is a ministry of warning God’s people to repent and turn back to God. Ezekiel Chapter 3 shows the ministry of a prophet:
Eze 3:18-19 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
Preachers understand that God has given us a message, and woe to us if we don’t preach it. Sadly there are some, perhaps many, preachers who don’t take their charge to faithfully preach God’s Word seriously. They fear man more than they fear God. We have too many cowards in the pulpits today. We need people with courage who will stand and push back against evil.
Please understand that not every Muslim is evil, but Islam is evil. It is the ideology and the teaching of Islam that is evil. If a Muslim follows this ideology, he will follow its evil ways. It will be a danger to our communities and our way of life. We must have the courage to stand up against it.
Don’t be afraid of people calling you intolerant. Why should we tolerate murder. Ask those who call you intolerant if they tolerate murder. Should we tolerate lies, theft, pedophilia, etc.? There are things that we should not tolerate. I am thankful that there are people who would not tolerate Hitler and Nazism and stood up against it. It cost many their lives. we are enjoying freedom today because they did.
If we roll over and tolerate the political correctness of our day, what will the results be? Political correctness is censorship. It is the liberals applying censorship on conservatives and Christians. If we speak the truth they will call us intolerant, insensitive, bigots, and so forth. They even want hate crime laws that will make us criminals if was say certain things.
We cannot stand down when there is evil in our communities. We must find a backbone, no matter what they all us.
Let me say a bit about the British voting to exit the EU. The people had had enough. It was largely due to unfettered immigration forced upon them by un-elected foreign bureaucrats. These bureaucrats were dictating how the British were to live.
I believe this is the rebirth of nationalism. Perhaps this could spread to North America. Maybe we could declare our Independence from the UN.
We really need to have some people who are willing to stand at the corner of truth and courage no matter what names they may be called.
