Christian Apologetics toward Islam and Missions to Muslims

The “Radicalization” of a Muslim – Continued

radicalizationThis week we have been talking to you about how to “radicalize” a Muslim. We use the term “radicalize” because it is the politically correct term. The truth is, they are not teaching them radical things, that is things that are contrary to the teachings of true Islam, they are teaching them the fundamental teachings of Islam.

There are two versions of Islam out there, the true, historic Islam of Muhammad and the Qur’an, and the artificial Islam, the Islam of the reformers who are trying to invent an Islam that is contrary to historic Islam. They are trying to invent an Islam that is peaceful and pluralistic. They only follow those passages of the Qur’an that are peaceful and neglect or interpret away those passages that are militant.

There are both peaceful and militant passage in the Qur’an, and here is why. Early in Muhammad’s building of his new religion, when he was in Mecca, his message was primarily peaceful. There were no commands to kill those who didn’t believe in Allah. In fact he said:

There is no compulsion in religion.

He taught that no one should be made to believe one way or another. After 12 years of preaching his message of monotheism, the people of Mecca threw him out of the city. They had enough of his preaching and his efforts to throw out the 360 idols of the Kaaba. When his uncle, who was his protector, died they, threw him and his followers out. He had about 120 followers at the time.

From Mecca, he went to Medina. He went there because there were 3 Jewish tribes. He thought they would receive his message because the message he was receiving from who he though was the angel Gabriel, said that Allah, the moon god of Muhammad’s people, was the creator of everything.

He taught that he was the God of Abraham, Moses, the god of the Jews. He taught that Allah had first given his revelation to the Jews, but they had corrupted it, and that now he was going to give it to the Ishmaelites through Muhammad.

When he arrived at Medina, he started preaching his message to these tribes. They rejected him and his message. If Muhammad had really been a prophet of God, the message would have been consistent with the message of the Jewish prophets. He was really upset because the Arabs had rejected his message, and now the Jews were rejecting it.

All of a sudden Muhammad started getting some new revelations that said to fight those who do not believe in Allah. This was a contradiction with what Allah had said earlier about there being on compulsion in religion. The solution is very simple. In Islam there is the doctrine of abrogation. It says that when there is contradiction, the later passage abrogates, or annuls the older passage. The reason is that Allah changed his mind. Allah is quite different from Jehovah. Allah is the capricious one, the one who can change his mind, and Jehovah is the immutable one who never changes. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. We can bank on what God said 2,000 years ago being valid today and 2,000 years from now, it will never change. Not only can Allah change his mind, he can change his very nature. While he used to say that no one should be forced in religion, now he says kill those who don’t believe in Allah.

The reformers, who are trying to reinvent Islam, are preaching only the passages from Mecca. They neglect to preach those parts of the Qur’an that have abrogated the earlier passages. Muhammad did away with those passages. When you take all that Muhammad taught, the reformers don’t have a leg to stand on. The “radical” Muslims, the terrorists, are being taught the true form of Islam, the Islam of Muhammad.

Earlier in the week we went through the 10 steps to radicalization of Muslims, but I am revisiting it because I didn’t have the time to fully address the last two of them.

The ninth step is to establish that the people of the Book, Jews and Christians, have corrupted the world, primarily the West, with the Judeo-Christian type of democratic government. They believe that democracy and freedom, the freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom to choose, etc.,  is not of God and is a corruption of Allah’s will. Where did we get the idea of a democratic form of government? We got it from the Bible. It is not a corruption, but Muslims view it as if it was.

There are some who say that freedom of religion is in the government of some Islamic nations. Let’s look at this a little closer. Back in 2009, Youcef Nadarkhani, a 34-year-old pastor from Rasht, about 750 miles north-west of Tehran, was arrested in October 2009 after he protested a government policy that required children, including his 8- and 9-year-old sons, to study the Qur’an in school. Youcef told school officials that the Iranian constitution allows for freedom of religious practice. Things like this are put in their constitutions to make the rest of the world think they do have freedom of religion. This pleases the international community, but it is only there for show.

I have to be careful about what I say next so I don’t get anyone in trouble. Some time ago I was speaking to a member of parliament in an Islamic country. His a Christian and a member of parliament, there are maybe three of them, and he told me that he knows he is just a puppet. He said I am only there so they can show the world that they have Christians in their government. He has no powers, no real rights to any votes, I am just there as a puppet. He can’t rock the boat or he will not wake up in the morning.

As a result of his stand, secret police called Youcef before a political tribunal and arrested him for protesting. The charges were later amended to apostasy and evangelism of Muslims. Youcef was tried on Sept. 21–22, 2010 by the 1st Court of the Revolutionary Tribunal and sentenced to death on Nov. 13 for apostasy. His lawyer, Mohammad Ali Dadkhahwho, given nine years in prison for defending Nadarkhani even though he was a state appointed lawyer. I ask you, does that sound like they cherish freedoms?

The tenth point in the radicalization of a Muslims is to establish that Israel is stealing the land that God has promised to Ishmael. They believe this because In the Qur’an, Abraham takes the son he loves, his first born, Ishmael, not Isaac, to be offered. Who is Ishmael? He is the father of the Arabs, and Muhammad is one of his descendants. The descendants of Isaac are the Jews. Islam teaches that Ishmael is the rightful heir to Abraham because he is the first born, and the inheritance normally goes to the first born. This is where the idea that Israel is the foreign occupier of the land comes from. This also explains the hatred Muslims have toward Israel. They also believe that Muhammad commands that every Jew is to be killed.

In Islamic prophetic texts it says that in the future Jews will be hiding from Muslims. They believe that Jews will be hiding behind rocks and trees. They believe the trees and the rocks will speak and say, “O faithful servant of Allah, there is a Jew hiding behind me. Come and kill him.”

They also believe that when Isa, the Muslim Jesus, returns he will abolish the jizia (a tax on Jews and Christians for protection), kill every pig (Jews), and break every cross (kill the Christians). This is established in their thinking and their belief system.

They believe there are rewards for them if they die as a martyr for the cause of Allah. They believe they will be  punished if they are disobedient to this command.

The press, the Obama administration, and even most conservatives, call this “radical Islam” to suggest that it is something outside of true, historic Islam. What we see with ISIS and the other terrorist groups is exactly what Islam is. They are just following the teachings of Muhammad, their prophet, who is considered the perfect man.
