Editor’s note: I want to apologize for the lack of posts for the last two weeks. Tom and I have been in Israel and the time schedule didn’t allow me to keep up with things. We arrived back in the States late Saturday, and we should be back on track. Again, my apologies.
We had a great time in Israel these last two weeks. I want to start by sharing something that happened on our trip.
One of the couples from Texas that came with our tour group, a couple that I didn’t know, had a medical emergency. The husband had had some kind of heart procedure a short time before the trip. A blood clot had formed, and he didn’t know about it. His doctor had given him clearance to take the trip. Fortunately the couple had bought insurance before the trip. If you go on a trip like this, get the insurance, it is well worth the cost.
When they arrived in Israel he was experiencing pain in his back, they thought it might be a kidney stone or something. It was bad enough that he went to the hospital. It was then they found out it was a blood clot. The clot had become septic and it burst. It was poisoning his blood system. Because he was in Israel, he was treated by the number 2 neurologist in the world so he got some of the best care possible.
The second important issue, which shows God’s hand in it all, was that had this happened in the United States, the man most likely would have died. Fortunately they have a drug in Israel that has not been approved by the FDA in the US. It was this drug that saved his life.
The bottom line of this story is that had he not come to Israel, he probably would have died. All of us on the tour rejoiced, seeing the hand of God in this.
Because of the insurance I mentioned above, they got back all of their expenses for the trip. We can praise God for His watch care over His children.
And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim: (Matthew 4:13)
In verse 17 we are told:
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. (Matthew 4:17)
Chapter 11 tells us:
And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. (Matthew 11:23)
The people in Capernaum got to see the Son of God performing miracles and doing things that only God could do. Remember, the Jews required a sign, Jesus gave them many, and yet they did not receive Him and His message. As a result of this, Capernaum, Chorazin, and Bethsaida were cursed by God and were later destroyed.
The message that Jesus was preaching was repent, people of God, and turn back to me. If you do this, I will bring blessing upon you.
This is God’s message throughout the Bible. Many times Israel would lose their way and God would bring preachers to call them to repentance. They were warned that judgment would come if they did not repent. When They didn’t, judgment came. When the pain became too much they would return to God, and God would restore them back to blessing.
I feel this is the very same thing we are facing here in America. I don’t agree with John Calvin on much, but I do agree with him when he said:
When God judges nations, He gives you wicked leaders.
In just a couple of days we will learn whether Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump will be our next President. As I have been saying, it looks to me like Hillary Clinton will probably win. I believe this because I believe God is giving us judgment. I am not saying this because of all of the prognosticators, I am saying this based upon, Is God blessing America, or is He judging her? I believe that is God is judging America and we will get Hillary Clinton.
We may get Donald Trump, and I don’t think that is necessarily a blessing to us because he is not a godly man. There were candidates on the ballot during the primaries who feared God, but the American people didn’t want them. We chose the two candidates we have now. While I was in Israel, I got into discussions with some Israelis, and one of them said “Is that the best America has out of more than 300 million people?”
If God is judging us, I believe He has every right to do so. I did some numbers, America has now butchered 58,000,000 unborn babies, all of this since the 1970’s.
What if God was to bring judgment upon us through a plague and kill a number of people equal to the number of babies we have killed? We don’t call it murder, we call it abortion, and we don’t call them babies, we call them fetus’s because it would be murder to kill babies. I want us to see what this would look like, so lets start with the states with the smallest populations and add up until we get to 58 million people. Everyone in Wyoming would be gone, then Vermont, then Alaska, North and South Dakota, Delaware, Montana, Rhode Island, and Maine, We would still not be there. We would lose New Hampshire, Hawaii, Idaho, West Virginia, Nebraska. This would get us nearly to the halfway point. We would lose Nevada, Kansas, Arkansas, Mississippi, Utah, Iowa, Connecticut, Oklahoma, and we are not finished. Oregon would be gone, Kentucky would be gone. Finally, we would lose Louisiana and Alabama. That is how many states we would lose to reach 58 million souls.
We would lose the total population of 28 states to reach 58 million. When we bring these numbers into perspective, it is sobering.
Lets start with the larger states and see what it looks like. We would start with California. The next most populous state it Texas, and we would loose all but 6 million of them. In the next 6 years that 6 million would be gone.
The sin of our nation, the bloodshed of innocent children, is horrendous, how can God bless such a nation?
Why do we do this? We do it because the child is not convenient. It is not like we are trying to save lives. There is an argument that some abortions are done for that reason. The vast majority of abortions are not done for that reason, and even if they were to save a life, a life is still lost in every abortion. Listen to what God has to say on the subject:
These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. (Proverbs 6:16-19)
Notice that the third item on the list is “hands that shed innocent blood.” Is not the killing of the unborn the shedding of innocent blood?
Hillary Clinton is for abortion up to the last seconds before birth, She has stated publicly that an unborn baby has no constitutional rights.
We have reached a point where breaking the law doesn’t matter any more. If you look at the evidence, nearly half of the country is going to vote for a person who has broken the law throughout her entire political life, and even before she entered politics. All of this doesn’t matter to people. There are people at the highest levels working to see that she is not prosecuted.
If those who are supposed to be the guardians of our laws don’t keep the law, do you really expect the people at the bottom to do so? President Obama has said that some of our laws would not be enforced because he didn’t agree with them. It is illegal for him to do this, yet he has gotten away with it.
If we allow our nation to become lawless, and we are nearly there, it will be the end of our nation.
If there ever was a time when God’s people need to cry out to God for mercy on this land, it is today. Let’s pray that God will have mercy upon us. Whoever is elected, we, as Christians, have an obligation to pray for them and ask God to do a work in their lives and hearts.
