Christian Apologetics toward Islam and Missions to Muslims

Turkey threatens to Open the Floodgates

israel-firesTurkey threatens to Open the Floodgates

Do you remember the coup d’etat in Turkey a few months ago? Turkey’s president Erdogan said that if the EU didn’t give Turkey something like a billion euros, he would open the floodgates and allow the Syrian refugees he has in his country to flood into Europe. He is making the same threat again if they don’t approve Turkey’s membership in the EU.

This threat is bogus because if they give Turkey membership in the EU, there will then be open borders between Turkey and Europe. This would allow the refugees to flood into Europe with out any restrictions.

Migrants burned down refugee centre in Germany

There is a Muslim refugee center in Düsseldorf, Germany that was burned down by the refugees. They came to Germany asking for help as poor refugees from a war-torn area. The Germans opened their doors and their checkbook to them and are meeting all of their needs. This story tells how they return the kindness of Germany. They revolted and burned down the center causing 10 million euros worth of damage.

There had already been trouble at this facility. The police had been called 89 times to this center. This latest incident was sparked by the fact that there wasn’t enough Nutella or Gummy Bears. Nutella is a chocolate and hazelnut spread. This tells you the heart of the refugees from the Middle East, doesn’t it?

Terror In Israel

For quite some time there has been relative peace in Israel. I just got back from Israel about a month ago. I saw families walking around peacefully at 10 or 11 o’clock at night with little fear of terror.

Recently the Muslims have risen up and tried to torch the nation. There have been more than 200 fires over a 5 day period. The biggest fire was in Haifa, which is the third largest city, and is located in the northern part of Israel. More than 700 homes have been damaged or destroyed. Sixty thousand people have been evacuated. Thirty-seven people have been arrested, 23 for arson and are still in jail. Two of them have admitted to lighting the fires. Of those still in custody, 18 of them are Israeli Arabs. They are Muslim Arabs that hold Israeli passports and identification. They get all of the social benefits and other benefits from the Israeli government, and they repay it by trying to burn the country down.

Greece, Cypress, Croatia, Turkey, Italy, and the US have sent help to fight these fires. Interestingly, Russia has also sent help. We need to keep a close eye on Russia because it is trying to be the one that the Middle East can go to for what it needs.

During the Obama administration, the US has let the countries of the Middle East down, with one exception, Iran. This administration has done everything possible to help Iran, but has done everything possible to make things more difficult for Israel. The one thing the US has done for Israel is to send in a super tanker to help put out some of the fires.

Surprisingly, the Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, has sent in firefighting equipment and teams to help put out the fires. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did call him to thank him for his aid.

A Holocaust survivor, Abigail Ben Nun lost her home in the fires. She was asked by a new agency how she felt about the fact that the fire was probably a terrorist act. She said:

“It’s not probably. It was….we saw the fire, the Molotov, thrown from a car passing…so it’s hatred.”

This was an intentional fire. A car passed by and through a Molotov cocktail into the house. She also said:

“There used to be no hatred among the peoples, until they brought in Arafat and his gangs…that’s what started the education of the haters.”

I think it is shameful that Arafat received a Nobel prize for peace when he was heavily in the attacks against the Jews and only gave lip service to peace. In Islam they have two faces, the public face, and the true face. Muhammad taught that war is deceit. He taught that Muslims are at war with unbelievers, and they have the obligation to deceive and lie to advance the cause of Islam. It is in the Shariah.

Muhammad set the example when he made a peace agreement with the last Jewish tribe in Medina. The agreement said they had to leave Arabia. When the men came out, Muhammad reminded his people that war is deceit, and he proceeded to chop off the heads of the men, some 6 to 9 hundred of them. Arafat often reminded his people of this event, and used it to teach the Palestinians to deceive the unbelievers.

Abigail Ben Nun had survived the death camps and she said this:

“I see miracles every day. Every day, I see my children, I see my grandchildren, I see my great-grandchildren. Every day is a miracle for me. And the house – we will build it back. And we’ll build it even more beautiful.”

I don’t know if she is a believer in Christ, but instead of being filled with bitterness and hatred for what happened to her, she has a great attitude toward life.

Teachable Moment

When our world comes apart, we as Christians shouldn’t come Apart. This sends a Remarkable Testimony to the Lost.

Mt 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

When we go through trials, like our house being burnt down, we should let our light shine and praise God for His goodness.

Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

As Christians, we have the promise of God that even when tragedy comes, He has some good purpose in what He allows to happen in our lives. There is a silver lining in the cloud. We don’t always understand, but we know that we can believe that God has our best interests at heart.

I believe in the sun, even when it is not shinning. I know I can trust God, even in difficult times.

The Bible tells us that we are to endure hardness as a good soldier  (II Tim 2:3). It also tells us that we shall reap if we faint not (Gal 6:9).

Example:  Joseph into Slavery

Joseph’s life was full of great highs and great lows.

  • Favored by his father above his Brethren
  • Hated the most by all his Brethren
  • Highest Fashion – Coat of Many Colors
  • Thrown into a Pit and sold as a slave
  • Grew to the highest Position in Potipher’s House
  • Falsely accused and thrown into Prison
  • Forgotten by Butler
  • Prime Minister of all of Egypt

Because of Joseph’s  position, he was able to save his family during the great famine. When he confronted his brothers, and they feared for what they had done to him. listen to what he told them.

Gen 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

Sometimes evil does come our way, but God has a good plan and purpose for allowing it to come. We say God is good when he comes through with great blessings, but is he still good when:

  • We did not get that promotion,
  • or the job.
  • Or that loan application failed.
  • Or you get a letter saying the bank is going to foreclose.
  • Or when we did not get the grade we needed to pass the test.
  • Or the Doctor tells you are going to need an operation.
  • Or the Doctor tells you the treatment did not get all the cancer.

Is God only a Genie to you? Do you bless him only when he comes through and blesses you.

Psa 34:1   I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

Rejoice in the LORD ALWAYS —- and again I say REJOICE   Phil 4:4

Let me close by saying, Let’s make America Christian again.
