Christian Apologetics toward Islam and Missions to Muslims

Bombing in Manchester

There was another terrorist attack in the beautiful English city of Manchester. I used to live just outside Manchester. The attack was at a concert hall where pop singer Ariana Grande had just finished performing.

It appears that the explosion went off at the end of the concert as people were exiting the arena. There is no doubt that this was an Islamic terrorist attack. Islam does not permit music and this type of activity. Let me say, that as Christians we don’t support this lifestyle and behavior and those things that the pop music industry is trying to promote to our young people, but we don’t blow them up for it.

This did not happen because of fanatics, nor because of some twisted people who have taken the message of Muhammad and twisted it through extremist views which take a peaceful teaching and turn it into something violent. This happened because it is the nature of Islam and Muhammad’s teaching. They are doing exactly what the Prophet Muhammad had commanded, and what he did himself.

We have documented the violent nature of Islam over and over again. When will there be enough bloodshed to cause our political leaders to stop playing this charade that tries to turn a violent ideology into something peaceful? When will they realize that our problem is not a few fanatics, it is Islam itself. We will continue to have these problems as long as we refuse to admit the truth.

Yesterday I referred to President Trump being over in Saudi Arabia. I understand as political leaders you must be diplomatic in how you handle these things. One thing we have learned about President Trump is that he is a straight shooter and he will tell you how it is. He is not always the best in how he expresses it, but he will not candy coat things. We must get honest and tell it as it is.

Let me share some quotes from my files by famous people in history concerning Islam. I want to start with a quote from our 26th President, Theodore Roosevelt. This quote is from his book “Fear God and Take Your Own Part.”

Christianity is not the creed of Asia and Africa at this moment solely because the seventh century Christians of Asia and Africa had trained themselves not to fight, whereas the Moslems were trained to fight. Christianity was saved in Europe solely because the peoples of Europe fought. If the peoples of Europe in the seventh and eighth centuries, an on up to and including the seventeenth century, had not possessed a military equality with, and gradually a growing superiority over the Mohammedans who invaded Europe, Europe would at this moment be Mohammedan and the Christian religion would be exterminated. Wherever the Mohammedans have had complete sway, wherever the Christians have been unable to resist them by the sword, Christianity has ultimately disappeared. From the hammer of Charles Martel to the sword of Sobieski, (Battle of Vienna Sep 11, 1683) Christianity owed its safety in Europe to the fact that it was able to show that it could and would fight as well as the Mohammedan aggressor… The civilization of Europe, American and Australia exists today at all only because of the victories of civilized man over the enemies of civilization because of victories through the centuries from Charles Martel in the eighth century and those of John Sobieski in the seventeenth century. During the thousand years that included the careers of the Frankish soldier and the Polish king, the Christians of Asia and Africa proved unable to wage successful war with the Moslem conquerors; and in consequence Christianity practically vanished from the two continents; and today, nobody can find in them any “social values” whatever, in the sense in which we use the words, so far as the sphere of Mohammedan influences are concerned. There are such “social values” today in Europe, America and Australia only because during those thousand years, the Christians of Europe possessed the warlike power to do what the Christians of Asia and Africa had failed to do — that is, to beat back the Moslem invader. (Source:  Theodore Roosevelt’s book Fear God and Take Your Own Part (1916) p. 70)

Do you grasp what he said about Christians being willing to fight to defend their religion? Africa and Asia were lost to Christianity because the Christians there did not prepare themselves to fight to protect themselves and their religion against the Muslims who were trained to fight. Christianity was saved in Europe only because Christians were prepared to fight and defend themselves against the Muhammadans. Had the Muslims succeeded in Europe, Christianity would have been wiped off the face of the earth.

Roosevelt is looking back over the history of Islam and how it spread itself across the world by force. The only reason Islam did not succeed in Europe, and through Europe, in the US and Australia, is that Christians were prepared to fight to defend themselves against the Islamic onslaught.

Yesterday I quoted Winston Churchill, Today let me quote his grandson Winston S. Churchill. This is from a speech he gave at a rally in Raleigh, NC.

At its most extreme, authoritarianism is exemplified by the isms of the 20th Century — Communism, Fascism and Nazism. The Fascists and Nazis were responsible for the deaths of more than 30 million human beings, while more than 50 million are estimated to have been murdered by Stalin and the Russian Communists, while Mao-Tse-Tung and the Chinese Communists are believed to have accounted for some 80 million.

But today a new challenge — another ism — confronts us, and that is the challenge of Islamic fundamentalism. Extremist Islam has declared war on the rest of the world, as evidenced by their ruthless attacks across the globe — overwhelmingly targeted at innocent civilians. Beside the outrage of 9/11, the bombings in Madrid, in Bali, in London and, most recently, in Jordan come to mind.

Those who have declared jihad against the West, and Western values, such as freedom of speech, are doing all in their power to mobilize against us the large Muslim communities living in our midst… Unbelievably, Washington is urging Europe to admit Turkey to the EU. Were that to happen, the Muslim population of Europe would skyrocket to 100 million — an act, in my view, of consummate folly. Already Judeo-Christian Europe is under siege from a tidal wave of Islamic immigration. The admission of Turkey would hasten its demise… Intriguingly, the dangers of extremist Islam were foreseen by Winston Churchill all of 85 years ago, as I discovered to my amazement, while compiling my most recent book NEVER GIVE IN! The Best of Winston Churchill’s Speeches.

Churchill is, of course, well-known for his gift of prescience and, specifically, for being the first to warn of the menace of Hitler and Nazism as early as 1932, and of the Soviet threat in his famous Iron Curtain speech in 1946 in Fulton, Mo. But how many know that he also warned the world of the dangers of Islamic fundamentalism? I certainly did not.

The attack yesterday in Manchester, England underscores the true nature of Islam. Many great men, like Theodor Roosevelt, Winston Churchill and his grandson, have foreseen what our political leaders today seem incapable of seeing. We need to have the courage to speak the truth about Islam, and we need to elect leaders who can see, and who are willing to stand for, the truth.

Fortress of Faith exists to speak the truth and to encourage others to stand up for that truth. Won’t you join us at the corner of truth and courage?
